Their ploy using the Virgin brand certainly worked with me - I had just assumed it was a real Virgin company! You are absolutely right, SMG are the owners, and I can't see any link to the Virgin Group now apart from the use brand (for which Branson no doubt gets paid royally/royalties).
The only reason I know about it is because I am reading a book about Branson. Very interesting and a very big eye opener and has made me seen him and his brand in a very different light.
Yours

Oh no, I got a call saying I had won Nivea grooming products yesterday, I was told a couple of weeks.
Does not sound promising then, If they havent sent them to Monkeymonkeyrarara0 -
I passed on your posting to a contact at Virgin Radio, who should now be dealing with your daughters prize.0

I have won numerous prizes on Radio stations over the years and find that you can get them after a couple of days or after a couple of months!!!!
It is NOT the fault of the radio station that your prize is delayed but the company who ran the promotion. Virgin should have a promotions department which should be able to give you details of the compnay that ran the competition and you could contact them that way.
I remember winning and NTL package a few years back that took 6 months to arrive. I won £1000 on my local radio station a few weeks ago that took 3 days (luckily for me with christmas on the way)
So I advise you do the above and contact the promotions department. Don't ring the competition line at virgin as that gets you through to the studio, and they can't really do much.
I hope you get it for your daughter in time for xmas, good luck.

Allow me to disagree. If the radio station outsource parts of their operation, it is still the radio station who make the offer, and therefore they are the ones with whom the buck stops. They have to sort this out with whatever 3rd parties they use, and as far as I am concerned, they put their reputation on the line for the performance of their sub-contractors.
The culture of blaming third parties and leaving the end-user/consumer in a lurch is, sadly, on the increase - but only because end-users/consumers allow it to happen.0 -

Innovate ... if you read my post properly I say it is NOT the fault of the radio station that THE PRIZE IS DELAYED BUT THE COMPANY WHO RAN THE PROMOTION.
I also added that they SHOULD contact the radio station promotions department and not the studio. It is upto the promtion dept to put the prizewinner in contact with the company to sort this out. You can hardly blame Pete & Geoff for the delay. They are doing their job and its upto promotions and the promoter to do theirs.
I agree with your comment but that was not what I was saying.0 -
I have been in touch with accounts and someone who deals with competitions called Neil Stubbings who says he will ring me back everytime I call....still waiting. They gave 25,000 away on air last week, they are not that disorganised. It was a competition sponsored by Toyota........perhaps I should contact them?0
