YBS -> IceSave Transfer taking ages

Anyone else done this particular combination of ISA transfer?

I snail-mailed Icesave the details of my YBS account before the start of this month, had snail-mail confirmation off YBS saying they had received instructions dated 1st Feb, and since then..

Nothing.

I've emailed IceSave (last Tuesday and again on Saturday) but had nothing back from them other than the automated reply.

Just wondering if I'm unusual in this delay.

Don't know about the YBS specific case.
But i had a transfer from A&L to Icesave and it looked to me impressively slow! In my case it seemed a delay on the Icesave side which was very slow to send out the request to A&L.
Overall the whole transfer process took about 40 days!!! All the contrary than what reported initially here on the forums. Probably after the very first wave of transfers the Icesave people had some slow processing time (maybe due to volume of requests?).

Similar story for my Halifax --> Icesave.

My problem turned out to be that Halifax didn't update my address on their system when I moved house. I had sent them a letter but they now say they only accept me taking proof into a branch.

So, my ISA is now in limbo until I can get to a Halifax branch.

Off subject I know, but I tried changing address with Halifax got some letter back asking me to go to branch with proof, but cant really be bothered as I only have 1p with them.
  • Same here from KRBS to Icesave

Have had letter from KRBS saying money sent to Icesave and account closed but still at 0 balance on my Icesave ISA.
Anyone who has completed transfer, does Icesave backdate transfer ?
  • I rang them this evening. Turns out that either

    1) amounts didn't match between request and cheque sent according to an email reply this evening
    2) address didn't match according to person I spoke to on the phone.

They rang back this evening to confirm which address was the correct one and I was told that the cheque will be applied to my account tomorrow with the interest backdated to the 4th Feb. (Hopefully that answers your question Chris.)

It sure does, thankyou very much
  • Yes, same here from Stafford Railway to Icesave: 39 days and counting. I know that Stafford Railway took less than 5 days between receiving the transfer request and sending the cheque to Icesave. I called Icesave and they told me that they received the funds 7 days ago, but I am still waiting for the account details to make a deposit! Not impressed!

Update: Cheque deposited as 'processing' on 28th. Now showing as 'processed.'

Now it just remains to be seen as to whether the interest will be backdated...

I sent a letter to Icesave on the 4th February, for a transfer from YBS to Icesave. I received a letter from Icesave on the 22nd, saying they have requested the transfer from YBS. On the 29 February, the funds left my YBS account, but it isnt showing in the Icesave acount yet.
