Has anyone been to GY for hols before? I am going tommorow for a week with my three kids, 2, 4 and 9 and am looking for things to do that won't cost a fortune. Any hints/tips would be gladly appreciated.
We are staying on one of the Haven sites. also, and tips on WHAT NOT TO DO will be taken on board!

Hi,
I live in Great Yarmouth and can tell you that on a sunday they do a special deal on bowling in Regent Road where all the gift shops are.
Do not bother with the Sealife centre as it takes about 10 mins in total to walk through, and is quite expensive.
Pettits Farm in Reedham comes highly recommended, you pay around £7.45 per adult, not sure what they charge for the kids but once you get in the rides are free and there is plenty to see and do.Also not sure if Haven can get a discount. Worth asking in reception.
The cinema on Great Yarmouth seafront is old but they only charge £2.99 per child so it is not too bad on purse strings.
If you travel by bus then get a daily ticket called a rover for an adult it will cost £3.20 and child £2.10, this will cover you into great yarmouth, caister.
If i can help anymore let me know.

I live in the next town on from Great Yarmouth called Lowestoft. My kids love the Model Village which is on the Yarmouth seafront. It's a miniature village which you walk round and it has mini trains and everything you can think of going on. It's just been done up too.

Theres a funfair for smaller children at the end of Regent Road where all the gift shops are. It's a bit expensive (about 50p per token) but it's more suitable for young children than the other fair.
In Lowestoft there is the fountains. These are jets of water which you can paddle and play in and they are free to use. In the evenings there is also a light show on:

Its nice to get away from the seafront and into the town and the market place as well.0

I went there last year and can highly reccomend Pleasurewood Hills and also Pettits. We went to both these places and had a brilliant time, my Daughter at the time was 9 and she thoroughly enjoyed both trips.0
