Can you freeze tinned tuna?

I did ask on the quick questions thread at lunchtime today but have had no replies so thought maybe a new thread would get people's attention?
My cat has to have a daily tablet, which she will only take if it is in a little tuna. I don't like to give her too much tuna, and so a tin will last for three or even four days.
Unfortunately, it won't really last that long as it goes off and she won't eat it. I hate throwing it away, so wondered if I could freeze it in portions?
Will it still be tuna-like and smell tasty to her if I do? Or will it go odd? She is VERY fussy.
Can anyone help? I use Tesco Value tuna flakes (she prefers that to chunks) but maybe better tuna would last longer?

I am not sure about freezing but I am sure that if you put it in a tupperware container and keep it in the bottom of the fridge (where it is coldest) it should be ok for a few days.

To partially quote your reply to somone else-don't be so stingy! If you can't afford to lose a bit of food your cat won't eat you must be an alcoholic or smoking 100 cigs a day!:rotfl:Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0 -

Thanked instead of quoting you but still, it's probably one of few thanks you'll get. You';re newish so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, but take this on board - ignorant unpleasantness is not welcome on MSE. So take your attitude somewhere else.:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

Dont lie, you're just thankful for the advice and couldnt help thanking me
Im not that new, i give a lot of good advice on the travel forums and it is reflected in my 'thanks' per post ratio.
Nonetheless it is quiet on there so i have migrated here.
Still, if money is that tight you have to consider freezing tuna id seriously consider force feeding the ball of fluff.0 -
It;'s not about money, it's about waste, which has wider implications than cash- the environment, carbon footprint, etc.
you're new. You have 500 posts, I have 9,000. That's new to me babe.
You wanna stir something up we'd welcome you in the Arms. Although I suspect you'd get eaten alive :cool::cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j
