How does a poster get thanked so much?

I just read this thread and noticed that the poster had been thanked over 30 times for each post.

I am curious how this is possible, as looking at a few prev. posts doesn't bear this out. I suspect a site glitch.

Not a glitch, they post competitions and everyone who has entered one they have posted, will thank that member.

As shellsuit says, competition posters can be thanked over 600 times per post if its a good one.Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

It's because people entering the comp will use the thanks button to identify that they have, so that in subsequent visits if they see they have thanked the op they know they have entered and do not duplicate an entry disqualifying them from the comp.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -
