What starter do you have xmas day?

We've been having "prawn cocktail" since God was a boy & I fancy a change.

We had a Caesar salad starter tonight (rarely have starters on a normal Sunday) & its so nice, much nicer than a prawn cocktail.

I was thinking of something with salmon.

Don't have starters, we pig out so much on main and pudding!

Enjoy yours though, what about something simple liked smoked salmon on a bed of leaves and a bit of vinaigrette or similar. I do admire you persevering with the prawn cocktail all this time, very Abigails' Party.

Hi we love bagels with cream cheese spread on with smoked salmon on the top its lovely and can be made very nicely for not too much money .
Also half a muffin with warmed ham and a poached egg on top (looks much posher than it sounds) with a touch of cheese sauce over.
I ll look forward to hearing every-ones ideas though,i would quite like recipies for prawn starters if people have them.

    No starters!
A waist is a terrible thing to mind.
  • Never have starters (unless in-laws are involved) as can't manage three courses especially as we dont have breakfast until late. If we're forced to have one I try to do something very light so we don't all explode!
