How about asking each child to bring in a family recipe, which could then be made into a book and sold to family and friends

I know it's not very interesting, but it requirs no outlay if you have traffic access to a playground - what about a boot sale? We made £120 last yera off just 20 cars, our nursery held a cake sle the same day and made nearly £100 so it was well worth a morning's work.

Hold a beetle drive. Families love it. You can have a raffle and a cake stall. As I'm from up North what about a pie and pea supper?

We have a raffle on every Friday family assembly. It manages to raise £20 to£25 every week.

Balloon race . I'd have to find out details if you were interested.

Were just resetting up our pta - and i too have been scouring other pta minutes published on the net for ideas!

At church we are doing a 'fill a smarties tube with coins' as a fundraiser another local church made over £200 by doing this - we havent specified which coins you have to fill it with so up to people if they put 1p 20ps or 1.00 we havent said all the way to the top either it was very much left to the recipient who had the choice not to participate if they didnt like the idea.

  • If your school or church is in any of the London Boroughs, there is a great new fundraiser that doesn't take much time and effort, and can make you a lot of money fast.

Get your students to sell the Triangle Card to their friends, and family. Parents can even sell them to their co-workers. The Triangle Card is a 2-4-1 & 50% discount at 200 restaurants in the London area. You sell the card for £25 each, and keep £12.50 from each card. So if you have a class of 30 students, and each student sells 5 cards, thats 150 cards sold, and you make £1875!

Check out the website, and give them an email!
    http://www.trianglebook.com/card.

There are even lesson plans available for year 5 & 6 classes, as well as posters and other resources.

Ladies Evenings are popular at our school - we just did a quesionaire and that is the event which got the most requests. You have lots of 'stalls' with nail art, jewlery, scaraves, etc with things to buy and mini treatments. Stall holders pay a fee for a table but keep all their profits and you charge and entry fee with a free glass of wine.

  • I have held a couple of successful balloon races. Local restaurants from the big chains often don't have their own local advertising budget so will let you have a supply of gas and balloons free of charge. All you need then is a big net, race cards and a couple of prizes - if you do a search on the internet you can find a few companies that will supply them. You do have to bear in mind some regulations - like how close you are to an airport.

On the day make sure you have lots of helpers. After blowing up and putting cards onto your first 50 balloons your fingers start to hurt!

Supermarket bag packing can also be quite successful.
