Hi, hoping some of you experts can help!
My laptop just died
Cable keeps melting and won't charge
Anyway, looking for a new laptop, and I thought, as I spent £30 + on my PAYG pm, I could get a contract phone for £30-40 pm, with inclusive minutes and texts, and get a free gift....a fancy new laptop! (Just the laptop I need, not mobile broadband) I was thinking of getting a contract phone as I am on a rubbish price plan (PAYG - top up £30pm for unlimited texts- vodafone) I wouldn't mind defecting to O2
Mobile.co.uk have some good offers, I know their service is appalling, but the offers would be perfect...if they aren't too good to be true! I've read the threads on them, but they seem to relate to the cashback offers.
Does anyone have any advice for me, or details of any other offers, ideas where I can get a snazzy new laptop for next to nowt!
Any help appreciated, thanks

All comes down to the number of minutes and texts you want, type of phone and quality of laptop.
If you are not too fussed about phone - get a cheap cheap cheap deal somewhere for a phone only with cashback and go out and spend the rest of your money on a separate decent laptop (dell ones to be honest are my recommended option because they know their stuff and are cheapish).0 -
Saying that mobiles.co.uk do offer dell laptops. Your choice, separate deals or one mobile and laptop together.
24 months is long at £30 a month (a deal on mobiles.co.uk), £720 total payable - might as well buy separately and choose what laptop you want.0 -

Hiya,
Please believe that although you may have seen some very negative comments on here from some people in particular, and I'd be the first to admit that in one or two cases we have not offered the level of customer service I'd have liked, we have literally thousands of happy customers every week with a free laptop, console, a cheque, a cashback deal etc.
Hope this helps,“Official Company Representative

Surely that post counts as touting for business, Mr Representative...0

It's borderline perhaps, but the perception of the OP was incorrect and based on some very biased accounts that simply have no basis in fact - I think I should be allowed to defend the company from untruthful charges. I see that the OP has thanked me for the post, in fact. As it was a reply to their question rather than being unsolicited I'd hope it's OK.
It was factual, had no 'Call To Action' and contained no specific deals etc. Plus I admitted sometimes we get things wrong, which is strange touting
I'm happy to remove it if asked to.
Other mobile phone retailers are available.“Official Company Representative

The negative reports of appalling service regarding cpw companies (including mobiles.co.uk) are not confined to MSE forums, but are to be found across the net!0 -
Whilst I've got the company rep's attention lol.....thanks for the replies...it's good to know you're here if things go wrong
I,ve got until 5pm to decide..if I want next day delivery
Just needed some advice in case there were any pitfalls to watch out for/extra costs/better offers. It does look a good deal for me
Mobile.co.uk rep : you say you can't repond to pm's about offers etc...but I can respond to you if you just sent them :rotfl:Back on it!0 -
Sorry, a) it's probably not allowed and b) it's not really my department. Hopefully our site is easy enough to use that whether you know which handset you want, which network or which free gift you can find the best deal for you. Alternatively if you click "Click here for help" and request a callback our (non-commissioned) sales staff can help you find the best option for your needs.

In general you can get a better deal with a contract phone (probably with cashback) and buy a laptop separately
But read mobilejunkies cashback for dummies thread and follow it to the letter. If you aren't organised you will lose out
Alternatively have a look at TMobile Solo sim then you'll save £20- £25 a month anyway and that £500+ over 2 years will buy a much better laptop
CPW does have a very bad rep on here (and elsewhere) be careful they also sell as
Mobiles.co.uk
Onestopphoneshop
The Phonespot
e2save
I'd avoid the lot of themTANSTAAFL !0 -
Well, in my own opinion now, mobiles.co.uk are crap.
Ordered my 02 contract LG Cookie phone and free premium Dell 17 loptop yesterday before 5pm, and eagerly awaited delivery delivery today before 1pm
"Guaranteed next working day delivery (before 1pm) for orders received before 5pm" I ordered mine at 4.30pm
1pm, no sign of phone or laptop
Reply from mobiles.co.uk just now..... "Unfortunately we need orders to be in a few hours before 5 in order to process them in time for 5pm. As your order wasn't received in time it has only been sorted today"
Duh!
I've cancelled my order and am now off to CurrysBack on it!0
