On tonight's 'Tonight' programme. Apparently a Magnetic Fuel Saver will save around 7% in fuel costs when running a car. In addition to the 'Green Driving' method (no hammering it around everywhere) it might well be a worthwhile saving. I have just ordered a magnetic fuel saver from ebay. I will monitor it and re-post the results.

Snake oil. They don't work.
If they could *really* provide 7% (SEVEN!) don't you think manufacturers would bolt one on at the factory? Car wars are won and lost on MPG figures, all of the manufacturers *love* to show the range/MPG figures on their cars, if they could really put those figures up by 7% for the sake of a poxy magnet they'd do so.0 -
Normal car manufacturers put rock hard tyres on to get 2 mpg so adding a magnet for £1 in volume production would be in there interests to do.
I was once fooled by it on QVC, I tried it for 30 days and my fuel economy went up by O mpg.
A well service car will get you more MPG than every other mod added together.Lets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0 -
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. Total waste of money.
Just keep a vehicle maintained, go easy on the right foot, think ahead to avoid using brakes when removing foot from accelerator will suffice and keep tyres at recommended pressures. Drive defensively rather than aggresively, you'll get there almost as fast.
Then a saving will be noticed.0 -

This scam as been going for years. If it worked (which it dont) Car makers would have done it years ago.0

Perhaps the OP could try turning water into hydrogen as well? :rolleyes:It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
agreed with the others , if the car makers could boast a fuel saving of 7% by adding these they would fit them at the factory0

I've got a bridge for sale if you're interested....
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
BTW, on Tuesday going from Hull to Bridlington, over a journey of 27 miles, I managed to get 73.5MPG out of my 2L Mondeo TDCi on Tescos finest supermarket diesel....no magnetic fuel savers involved. I'll admit to not exceeding 50MPH though but neither was anyone else so it's not like I was holding anyone up.0
