make some stuffing and make sure it's stuffed right through the middle of the joint then when you cut it there's a bit of stuffing in very slice - yummmm!

It can be very lean, so needs some fat to keep it moist. The idea of stuffing is a good one as you can incorporate fat into the stuffing, which will melt and baste the joint as it cooks.

  • Hi,
Sorry to hijack thread but I also have a pork loin joint. It's very small-enough for 3 people.I'd like to cook it in the slow cooker but I've never done pork in the sc before, will it be nice and soft like chicken and lamb done in the sc?
    Thanks

Get a tin of value peaches and put the drained peaches, some marge or butter and thyme or herbs and re-roll it.

Or, put it in a dish with onions, cider and prunes.

    Both are yummy :D

Yes, it will be fine. I usually screw up some small balls of tin foil in the bottom of the SC (about 6) and balance the joint on them so that the juices etc can drain off. Then I put in just 1-2 tbsp water to start it off, but it will release lots of juice while cooking so you don't need much.

    Hi destiny,

There's an older thread on cooking a pork loin joint that should help so I've added your thread to it as it helps to keep all the suggestions together.

There are also some more ideas on this thread:

Ok, so its like this, I went to Lidls yesterday as I really fancied trying the gammon/coke comby in my slow cooker.
Lidls was absolutely heaving and i struggled to get close enough to the shelves to see what was going on. Went to the meat fridge and thought I saw ,through the crowds, a little gammon joint, result I thought. So I grabbed it, picture arm going through the smallest of gaps, hand feeling for the meat, grabbing it and dumping it in trolley before legging it quick so no one could steal it off me:rotfl:

Fab, however when I got home I discovered its not gammon its a dinky pork loin:o

So do you think that would work with the coca cola and maybe a dollop of tom K? In a kinda of BBQ sauce kinda taste? or do you have any other suggestions that I could do in the slow cooker?

    Many thanks
