Please help: Hair straighteners

I had Ghds, which died couple of months back. I was planning to get new ones, either GHD mk4/ BaByliss Radiance Pro 230.
But yesterday, visited House of Fraser and there was someone demonstrating hair straighteners and curling tongs, and I must say I was impressed, but Before putting £££ on it, I thought I will go thru some reviews on the net,as it was an American brand and then buy it. But I have forgotten its brand name now, it is sold in USA for $300 and was on a promotion in the UK for £100, many people were buying it, can anyone who has bought it, pls let me know the brand and feed back on how they r finding it? I was also looking to buy the curling tongs which were on a promotion for £79. (The guy said that the offer won't last for long)
I know it is a long shot, but thought of giving it a try!
Also what do u reckon between MK4 & Babyliss pro-radiance.
Thanks in advance for all your feedback!

I really think you cannot beat GHDS ...I know they are more expensive but you wont be disapointed.0

You maybe can't beat them but you can certainly match them! :T
Just got these for my girlfriend and she loves them. She had GHD's before and says they are almost identical and just as good. This is the cheapest place I found them...

I have the babyliss radience 230 and i think they are better then GHDs GHD used to give me very bad split ends and the babyliss ones seem to not do it. They go to the same temperature as well.
I know the guy is saying the offer won't last long but i have seen them too in House of fraiser and in the middle of shopping centres they have been at the same price for a bout a year its just a sales technique0 -
I think it depends how curly your hair is naturally, I have quite curly hair and nothing but GHD's will work for me, I know I would be gutted if I spent a lot of money on other ones and they were not as good, the good thing I find with GHD's is when you straighten your hair with them, your hair stays straight and can even handle a bit of damp weather, if I use any others my hair looks nice and straight but as soon as I go outside it goes frizzy and horrible. I think GHD's heat to 210/240 Degrees which is why they work so well so look out for the top temp on other models0
