Hi

I am about to change my mobile phone provider from T-mobile to O2. I wanted to make sure from Fellow MSErs who are already on2 contracts that they have 0845/0870 numbers within their inclusive minutes. Can someone please confirm this? And is this offer with all O2 pay monthly contracts or just certain ones?? Thanks.

Yes, this is confirmed. O845 and 0870 minutes are included within their inclusive free minutes. It is included on any contract with inclusive free minutes.

  • I have 6 O2 contracts all offering a combinmation of Peak/Off-Peak calls between them.

I have been using the 0844 access numbers to call abroad - and saved an absolute fortune in international charges.

Add into the equation the 12 monthj free line rental, and its been a good 2006:)

Thank you both for your response. I was afraid that once I went over to O2 I wouldn't be able to make international calls for free as I do now. You have reassured me that I can :j . Cheers.

  • o2 have kept on saying that they are going to start charging for these calls, so be aware that their T&C's may change (you maybe able to cancel you contract if they do) and you may start paying for them

That's good news, just gone onto 02 myself. How do they treat 0800 numbers?

    Cheers

0800 numbers are inclusive within free minutes as well. However, you need to omit the leading zero, so it starts 800.

The reason why this is done is so that PAYG users do not think that the call is free.

i dont understand this, whats it got to do with payasyougo customers?

Im currently on o2 contract and dial 0800 numbers without cancelling the zero, does this mean i get charged for them?
  • be careful its only 0870 and not 0871 nos. as for 0871 nos 02 will charge.
  • These numbers will be dropped from new tariffs on 1st April next year.

At present, some tariffs include this numbers & some don't, so be careful !!
  • Why is 0871 charged.

Who/where are you getting your o2 contract, I have an o2 contract (direct) through Mobileshop.com and a contract through e2save/CPW.

Just wanted to say don't (unless the cashback deal is really good) get a contract through CPW/e2save/OSPS if you'd like to have up to date mins/usage info. As with CPW contracts they do the billing and thier system is very slow to update if at all. Whereas with contract directly billed the unbilled usage can be up to 2 days behind but is updated regularly. Being a t-mobile customer you've experienced thier unbilled info which is one of the quickest and best of the major networks.
