We're just getting quotes from Howdens - designer came to the house - phoned up the next day with price. We've since chopped and changed both the design and the kitchen type - no probs with Howdens. They just alter the plan on the computer, print us a new picture and a new price. They gave us a few installers to ring, we've chosen one based on how clued up he obviously was when he came to the house, raising all sorts of issues that we hadn't thought of. They've been great to deal with and one day very soon we'll actually place an order with them!
Can't believe how much cheaper they are than other local companies.

Not heard from the one that came to see me a week ago yet. Got one from another branch coming to see me tomorrow, I expalined the situation before hand and I was told that they will le me know the "way around" the trade only problem.

Not the Best Scan, but you should be able to see the prices pretty well.

    Hi

Just wondering if that scanned page includes the discounts or not. I know you're not going to get 80% off that I wouldn't think, so is that a normal final price then?

I have the Stornoway kitchen which was previously Nebraska with MFI. Price looks like about double what I paid. I know Howden's is assembled though, but not really worth double the price. I'm just keen to find out in case we need a new kitchen if we move.

He said that was RRP so presumably before discounts. Interesting read thanks

The branch I'm using have no issue with selling directly to me but I will have to pay the full amount immediately.
Most of the units on my quote are 70% disc, appliance doors and decor ends are 85% disc. Goodness knows why they do it like that.

yep that's their "RRP" before discount.

i suppose primarily it just goes to show where abouts in the price range you're looking at.

i went in there yesterday and they were very helpful, and you can lift a door onto temporary hook and match them up with a little 30cm block of worktop.

This does puzzle me though. The kitchen I have is £2135 on there, for their 8 unit example or whatever. I have about 10 units, so i would expect to be fairly close to their example. From memory I paid about £900 all in from MFI, including worktops, sink taps, but not any electrical items.

My friend recently bought a kitchen in the same range, and added a washer and dryer from Howdens and got her cooker etc from there too. She said she paid £4k. I guess this means she was probably ripped off, rather than this being their normal price then?

Here's what I'm thinking - 2135 less 70% is about £750 for units (maybe more if more units etc), then sink and taps and worktop so it all still sounds do-able for £1,000 much like MFI prices?

I should imagine your friends price included fitting of and the worktops.
