I have two identical PC's..same OS, programs, memory etc.
One of them starts and closes really fast and the other seems to take forever, particularly on boot up....how can this be?
Any ideas please

I have now done everything suggested using the first 4 posts and there is no change at all.
Perhaps I didn't explain that I mean the start up bit from the initial boot to before log on, it takes ages.
Any more suggestions please?0 -

What should I be looking for in eventvwr please?
They are not attached to a network/router.0 -
difficult to say, errors, delays, if the pc's are truly identical, sync the clocks and boot them at exactly the same time, then compare the eventvwr logs, see if there is any difference. What is the time difference to the login screen?
This might help
