I replied to a recent thread with this but thought it was inportant enough to have its own.
I was sent an offer from them for a free trial of some DazzleWhite toothwhitening stuff for all only $4.99 postage from RealFreeSamples. I thought ok and filled it in.
Then I got the receipt email!!!! Thay had charged me $14.98 for the postage & packing. I spoke to them online and they said it was in the T&Cs at the bottom... which it was. The T&Cs were huge and it never mentioned when filling in credit card details.
Also in T&Cs it informed me I would be charged $59.99 for a months supply which would only be refunded if I returned it in 14days... I called them 4 1/2minutes after ordering the sample and they refused to not send it as they said it had already been shipped. I sent 'in 4 1/2 minutes you've shipped it?' and they said yes.
So I was conned! a FREE sample for $4.99p&p has cost $75!!! and the postage to send it back... even tho they hadnt sent it out.
BEWARE!!!! KEEP AWAY FROM DAZZLEWHITE SPECIAL OFFER AND
KEEP AWAY FROM REALFREESAMPLES!!!!! Facebook should remove them...

MOVING THREADS FOR BETTER RESPONSES
Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.:hello:0 -
sure thing! can I ask where it was moved to?0

freeparentstuff also just emailed me advertising this dental whitening. Thanks for the warning.:Sometime I try to be NORMAL. . . But it gets boring so I go back to being me. . .0

They do look dodgy; I clicked through to their site once and felt it would generate loads of spam etc. It took me almost 3 years to get all the rubbish Clash mailings to stop so didn't want to risk it again...0

IMPORTANT UPDATE
After double checking T&Cs I discovered I had also been signed up for
a monthly eNook @ $7.95 a month &
a monthly insiders pack @ $3.97 a month!
When I canceleed my membership they didnt inform of this and left me registered! I have spoke to them now and they said I needed to cancel each separately via a very expensive 0808 number!!! After pushing she canceled it via the internet chat box (but didnt offer this option originally).
DazzleWhite.com are moral crooks. Yes it's all in the T&Cs but they trick you at every step.
AVOID!!
If you feell for this and order the free trial ensure you cancel all three memberships they enrolled you for!0 -
via a very expensive 0808
But these are freefone numbers(check it out)0 -
i wouldnt buy anything in dollarsTarget Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I certainly wouldnt get anything as a freebie that involved giving over my CC details, I would just be a little bit perturbed as to why I should.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
"Marleyboy you are a legend!"
MarleyBoy "You are the Greatest"
Marleyboy You Are A Legend!
Marleyboy speaks sense
marleyboy (total legend)
Marleyboy - You are, indeed, a legend.0 -
A lesson to be learnt some of these so called freebies are clearly scams or not what it seems. I seen plenty of bogus freebie here, free usb/beer mug etc etc when you never get the offers but you do get a nice lot of :spam:
Its always worth checking things out.
Oh and I dont imply in any way the Op is a fool it is very easy to just enter details and not read small print we all been guilty of this0
