Thanks in advance.

    Hi kjpc83,

I normally use white cabbage for coleslaw and green cabbage for cooking but you can also treat white cabbage as you would green cabbage. If I'm cooking it I steam it until it's almost cooked, then toss it in some butter and black pepper then finish it off (covered) in the oven.

This earlier thread might give you some better ideas: Cabbage

my nana used to cook white cabbage for sunday roasts, it was yum!!

Cut the cabbage into long shreds about 1-2cm thick, add to boiling salted water and cook till softened (or just softened if you prefer a bit of crunch)... drain in a colander then tip cabbage back into the saucepan and then with a knife chop through the cooked shreds, add a large knob of butter, lots of ground pepper and a bit of salt to taste.

Pitta bread with salad, raw cabbage, meat - home made doner kebab

Or add thin pieces to a stir fry

I used to blanch the leaves then make into parcels stuffed with rice/mince/onion and put it in the oven.

cut into thin slices and steam until quite soft, then toss with butter and lots of black pepper

I could eat this on its own but it goes with most things too
