Brag brag brag brag brag... :p

    :)

But I'd really like to know the make and model number of your pie maker! I'm fed up with trying to fiddle things into used (many times) foil trays ;)

    P.S. Worth bragging about! :)

is that the pie maker which u put a circle of pastry in and fold it in half and it kinks all the edges to make a seal? plastic type maker ?

as i've seen these and always been intrigued.

as for the beef in a tin ? what is that like? hubby would love pies liek this made but i'm always cautious of meat in tin. and at mo while preg i am struggling to cook beef. can't stand smell.

but well done on your pie making.

I don't have a pie maker but wouldn't mind having a go at that even if it means fiddling with the tin foil trays salvaged from bought pies.........lol
Good price that. Did you add anything else to them or was it just the tinner steak ?

the tinned steak meat is really really nice!!! i was a bit iffy about it before i tried it.

it is precooked so you dont need to cook it only heat it up. i always buy princes or equivilant and it is 100% beef. it doesnt look appetising when you have got it out of the tin cos the gravy is cold.

the pie maker i have is a breville. they dont make them anymore but there are some on ebay. by the way im not advertising my goods on ebay cos i wouldnt sell my pie maker for all the pies in england! lol.

i think the other cutter types are good, but my pie maker cooks them (like a sandwich toaster) instead of having to put them in the oven. but may be a cheaper option?

i only used the steak but i guess you can put in mushrooms anything really!
I have made apple pies with it as well and i put custard in to the pie itself!!

i would be interested in hearing back if you brought one to see if you come up with other recpies. my pie maker didnt come with the recipie book/instruction book.

  • Did you use shortcrust pastry? If you're using a pie maker, can you put shortcrust on the bottom and puff pastry on the top. I would like to give these a try, might ask on freecycle. I'm quite sure that there'll be a lot of these sitting in cupboards unused.

ohh thanks i didnt think about using puff pastry on top, i have just been using short crust.

Good luck in finding a pie maker on freecycle. As you say I am sure there will be pie makers gathering dust somewhere that can be put to good use!

they are brillant! I didnt know they existed till i saw one being offered on freecycle and asked the poster what it was and i have never looked back!

i dont use it all the time, but its great to make cheap pies but healthy ones as you know what is in them.

They are incrediably tasty and apparently you can make quiches in them too but i havent tried that yet.

thanks for linking the instruction booklet! i didnt think to search for it on the internet!
