Not sure if this really is a bargain, but I think it possibly is.
From 17th Sep, Aldi will be selling a bluetooth enabled car cd/mp3 stereo.
£80 and I am tempted, if the technology works then it would be spot on in my car.

Anyone had one before?

I've never had one, but it's a fantastic idea.
The only thing I'd be worried about is the "built in mic". Will it be good enough to pick up your voice, but not every other noise in the car.
Wonder if its possible to use the Bluetooth to connect to my PDAphones music library? Nah, I can't see it either.0 -
I could be very tempted by this :jI only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0

I had the stereo without the bluetooth and FM reception was terrible.
Plus I would also worry about the mic pickup as you are a fair distance from the unit. What will probably end up happening is you pick up the surrounding noise and your voice is tiny in the background.0 -

Can you clarify the above comment?
Do you mean you "had THIS stereo" or you "had A stereo" with bluetooth?!?!
BTW, from what I hear, Aldi are very good with returns if the item turns out to be rubbish!!!

I think what he means to say is that he had a similar stereo but it was without the bluetooth and the reception of FM on the stereo was rubbish
:beer:I wanted to thankyou a million times but its a shame that I can press the button just once :T0 -
I think he meant, as i spoke to him the other day, he had one of the previous Aldi car mp3 players and the reception was rubbish. I had a clarion factory fit in my last peugeot and the reception on that was rubbish and so I'll never buy one of their stereos again.
Now I would guess that the way this works is that some people, maybe in Tevion look at a current catalogue of what the chinese manufacturers are producing at the moment. They then pitch these to Aldi who then choose what they want to sell over the next few months. Tevion places an order with said manfacturer and the models are branded Tevion. Therefore I doubt that this is similar to previous models Aldi have sold.
I am tempted by this but I already have a Sony CD\MP3 head unit. Its a shame this doesn't have a memory card reader\usb support as well. But then that would probably increase the price.
Will these be flying off the shelves, I would doubt it as the cd\mp3 player rush has happened a few times before at aldi\lidl and most people wouldn't know what bluetooth could do. Think I might wait and see peoples thoughts on this.
On both counts above I could be wrong of course ;-)

Edit : The only other bluetooth car stereo out there that i know of is the Parrot RHYTHM 'N BLUE which goes on ebay for about £165 so this is good value. Of course it depends on the quality but at least it shows there must be chipsets coming out to do this.0 -
not a bad spec, ive seen quite a few bluetooth stereos mostly around £120 mark, i think MOS do a similarly tacky one for that price.
Stick with Sony for proper sound quality0 -
$ony dont have a good reputation for good car audio, if you want good quality get an Alpine, Becker or Blaupunkt0
