Help! Need Sarnies ideas for lunches

Hello OS people,
I havent been on here for a while! so Hello and big hugs to everyone!!:j
I was wondering if anyone had any idea on how to make nice and healthy sarnies. Not just the usual ham & cheese thing, or cheese and mayo or tuna sweetcorn mayo. I am now sick of it!
What is the best or your favourite sarnie to bring in to work? Are there any recipes out there that will not break my piggybank?
I know we could try something else than a sarnie but we dont have access to a microwave at our workplace (well we could, if we'd purchase the expensive canteen food which is the only thing allowed in there, how antisocial). And I like my carbs for lunch, not much of a raw vegetable muncher I am.
As usual, any suggestion is welcome!:T

I get bored of sandwiches.
Sometimes I buy those part-bake bagettes for a change.
We also have couscous with ham and tomatoes in wraps, or pitta bread with savoury (flavoured) rice and chopped ham.
You can eat most pasta dishes cold too, like tuna pasta, pasta with bacon and tomato sauce.
Or, think what you would buy from a sandwich shop (or M&S or somewhere) and see if you can make that yourself cheaper! I bought tuna and black olives - yum.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

i have recently been using wraps alot.
for hubby i line a wrap with lettuce then add tuna and sweetcorn mayo. ( it amazing how different it taste in a wrap)
also when buying wrap's. don't buy the one in bread section. buy ones in the jar sections( where mexican bits are) and u get more for ur money. plus they have a longer date on them.
also what about cooking pasta. then add some cooked bacon , mushrooms , onions , peppers and mix in a bit of mayo. i also do this with rice. but don't add mayo.
but back to sandwiches i love marmite. ( would eat it every day if i could) also what about simple fillings like peanut butter , sandwich spread , cream cheese. of taking things like crackers with a little pot of pickle and some cheese. yummy.0 -
I am bored solid of sandwiches so recently I've just been taking a tub of hummus and a pack of pitas per week. Along with some fruit and yoghurt that fulfils my carb-wanting. I realised I'd rather eat snacky things at lunch than a full meal.0

Any good packed lunch ideas - I'm trying to spice up my sandwiches somewhat, today I had the very exciting cheese and ham (!) with a few cherry tomatoes - tomorrow (and the rest of the week) is Branston pickles & cheese sandwiches...:j0

My kids are demanding pasta salad to school.
Just mix cold pasta with loads of greek yogurt, chopped tomatoes, salmon trimmings of little bits of bacon, a few pine nuts... and you have an exciting lunch!I lost my job as a cricket commentator for saying “I don’t want to bore you with the details”.Milton Jones0 -
If you have a microwave in your workplace, and even if you don't but don't mind cold food you can have left overs
You should get yourself a smaller cooler bag to keep any cooled cooked food cold until lunchtime. There are a lot about at the moment because it's summer however Asda, M&S and TKMaxx seem to sell them all year round.
Other sandwich suggestions are:
1. Cheese and apple or grape
2. cheese and coleslaw
3. cheese and cucumber
4. cheese and herbs (you can grow patio herbs for sandwiches on your window sill. I grow spicy ones.)
5. cheese and tomato ketchup
Other cheap fillings are canned fish - Tuna is the least smelly. Turkey is also cheap and you can have it with cranberry.
I also like banana sandwiches but haven't eatened them ever at work for lunch. (I have been caught eating them for breakfast.) Plus in winter I sometimes have soup.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0
