Can anyone who has managed to bag some of the myvegas buffets for 2 please tell me approximately what time did you get them??Tried today on the hour and 1/2 past but no joy, much preferred the 3pm regular top up of rewards!!Typical got 720k worth of lps and 4 rewards and I will probably struggle to use them if it carries on like this!!

    hi
Im sure someone said a few pages back it had changed from 3pm to pretty random times.

My experince though was around this time 9.30-10pm, for when we got our rewards in late may (this year) for our trip in june
we got the mgm buffet for 2, the mandaly bay 2 4 1,the miragex2 lunch buffet and i cant recall the other buffer we got, but we also went for the ny ny rollerocaster(never again !:o)

I also think the more popular ones go quickly, so maybe its a bit hit n miss?

hope this helps and best of luck !

I got all of our rewards about 3/4 weeks ago which included buffets and I managed to get them all around 5.30pm if that helps, have to be really quick though on some of them

It was me that asked about the 2x buffets being hard to get.
As Bobby says,we were informed that the renewal time s now random.
A couple of days later I managed to get the 2 x mirage dinner buffets at 8 o clock in the evening.it is more of a nuisance not having a "set time" but I just left the spare iPad on the rewards page, and refreshed it every half hour or so..got lucky fairly quickly, without too much hassle.

Vegas Trip ( no 14 or 15 can't quite remember!)

    16/7-30/7

    Flights

Flew direct with Virgin from Manchester. In the bubble on the way out, didn't have to pay to choose seats as booked before this was introduced. I chose the seats behind the exit seats as I thought they were less likely to recline due to having all the leg room and they didn't recline all flight. It was a nice quiet flight, very good service and drinks didn't run out. Older plane on the way back and had paid for seat plus, it was a full flight so did appreciate the extra seat, however you get allocated this at check in and it was on row 45 which is next to toilets which I didn't like but OH and son found it very convenient just to stand up and be at the loo (boy thing maybe?). I actually managed to sleep and woke up with 1hr 30mins to go so best flights yet, oh except for landing in Vegas, I struggle more each time with this felt very ill. immigration was quickest yet, straight through.
We used mostly miles to pay for flights cost about £900 total for 3 of us.

    Hotels.

As we need 2 rooms for the 3 of us this can be expensive so we booked an apartment via VRBO at Grandview. These are opposite Southpoint, a casino we like. We have used VRBO for villas in Vegas and had no probs. The apartment was 2 seperate 1 beds that share a front door but then have a separate door to each apartment (if that makes sense!) it worked out very well for us. There are a few pool areas and you could always get a bed no matter what time of day. Plenty of room and you can move beds about not squashed in like a lot of strip hotels. It's also a different atmosphere not a Vegas one at all, very little drinking and more families so definately not your typical Vegas pool. So wouldn't recommend for most Vegas goers but it suited us. They are open 8am-midnight so longer than hotels, not that we used it at midnight! I prefer

    Luxor

We stayed here for first night using myvegas (2 rooms). not stayed here before and found it just OK, wouldn't choose again it seemed a bit tired to me, we were just in pyramid rooms so i'm sure Tower rooms are better.

    Monte carlo

Offer via Mlife for BOGO. Stayed for 2 nights. Have stayed before and like it here, just a basic room didn't try for upgrade.

    Sunset Station

Free night from myvegas and you don't have to pay resort fees unlike 'free' nights at MGM hotels. Again its OK nothing fancy but we were at the waterpark thats near here so worked well for us.

    Food

We eat very casual even had a few nights in as we had full kitchen and walmart!
My son was on a mission to find best burger. Having never tried In n Out this was obviously a must. So we compared Fatburger, In N Out and Steak and Shake (didn't make it to 5 guys). For me fries animal style at In n Out, burger with egg from Fatburger, cost at Steak n Shake but overall In n Out was declared winner.

    Buffets

MGM (myvegas) Found this very disappointing. Cold food, dry fried chicken just not a great experience.

Monte Carlo (myvegas) Quite enjoyed this, not a huge choice but hot. Self serve soft drinks and coffee.

Red Rock lunch buffet (myvegas) I thought this was excellent value for money ($9 if paying) Great salad selection and lots of other choice.

Southpoint ($17 for 3) Paid mainly with slot points. Free mai-tai's and a coupon for free bottle of wine so yes really enjoyed this one!

Sunset Breakfast (myvegas) Can't really mess up on breakfast, however not sure about apple cinnamom pizza and scrambled egg pizza...

Like Jasmine Sterling Brunch has been on my list to do for a while and we finally made it. My OH loved it, its definately quality over quantity and the champagne is free flowing. We paid $85 each, $5 off with players card. Not worth it for our son but we tried to make up the cost for him with the champagne, hubby did a good job of this! The blue cheese mash with fillet mignon....lovely...

    Entertainment

Ka at MGM (1 free ticket myvegas and paid for 2) Have to say wasn't impressed, son fell asleep. Apart from the stage moving, there wasn't much to wow me. OH re named it Ka-rap.

Bowling and cinema- Do a fair bit of these with son, we have a bowling comp going through out hol, pretty sure I won :)

Skydiving- In Boulder City at jump of 15 000 feet. OH really wanted to try this, he loved it but it just made me feel sick so not for me.

Waterparks- Wet n Wild and Cowabunga. A change from the pool and good fun, Cowabunga was the favourite.

We don't do much strip action these days but still do gamble mainly off strip at Southpoint, Silverton and M resort.

We are slot and pai gow players. Walking Dead was my addiction for the hol, we hit it on first night for $700 in Excalibur off $1.50 bet then again in MC for $1000. That was me sucked in but nothing of note after those wins. Pai Gow I was 1 card off a 7 card straight flush for $200K, my hubby had my card in his hand!

Didn't win overall despite hubby getting a handpay of $1700 on Willy Wonka (minus 30% tax:()

I had more luck on strip than off which is unusual so next year will be spending more time back there!

Totally missed the Cosmo fire only found out about it on here! If anybody has any questions please ask. I know its not your typical Vegas trip report but thought I'd contribute. Looking for next year, probs on our own.
