Why can't you just do what I suggest in post 291?

I didn't want to open any more accounts, also, when I opened my Tesco account some years' ago it was the most long winded account I've ever opened so was hoping there would be an easier route to go down.0 -
I was planning to set up my two DD's for the Club account to Tesco Internet Savers, one of which is in my name and the other is OH's. The reverse was going to be done for OH's Club account. I was just going to set them up, when I see on Tesco's manage money page that the DD can only be set up from an account in the same name as the Tesco account (ie I can't set up a DD to my Tesco from OH's Club account). I'm stuck now. It's been a loooonnnggg day, and I'm flagging.............:(
I've been using my Tesco account to meet the DD requirements for my Wifes Halifax reward account, so you have been able to set it up in differing names. The T&C's may have changed in the last year though.0 -
Nearlyretired2004 - Can you not use one to a Tesco Instant Access Saver and one to a Tesco Internet Saver paying £1 monthly from the Club account to the Tesco Accounts and thus meet the 2 DD requirement?
Is this definitely allowed?
Can anyone confirm they have successfully used two DD's from two Tesco savings accounts0 -

However, there are reports on here of such an arrangement being OK for the Halifax Reward account. My personal opinion is that it'll be fine, but if I had other options available I'd use them instead (and I do).0 -

My other two options were ING and Santander both of which now seem to have shut the door on new DD's.
However I am sending off a Santander DD form today - so will see what happens in a few days.0 -
I posted somewhere else that Santander have told me on the phone that they no longer do DDs (I think they called them Payment Instructions or something similar)
Also when I was originally doing my Reward accounts I was told that two DDs from the same organisation would not work..... however just because that's what I was told.....(?!?!?!?)0 -

From Their T&C's
Credit Interest: We will pay interest on a credit balance in your account for that billing period as long as you have a minimum of two different direct debit mandates paid from your account during the calendar month. We will not pay credit interest if this condition is not met

My Direct Debits show up as two seperate different mandates. They are both to the same institution YBS (ex Egg) but entirely different accounts.

I cant see how this would fall foul of their T&C's

Where did you get your Santander DD (or Funding Mandate as they call them) from? I can't find one online, I rang their call centre and I was told they won't post them and that I'd have to go into a branch but my closest branch is some 30 miles away, so I'm not going to do that.0 -

I wouldn't bother, the last one I filled in and returned was never actioned anyway.0
