:eek:I cant watch one born every minute anymore, I saw one when i was expecting my first. The woman went against all medical advice and insisted on a home birth which went horribly wrong, the baby survived but it was a pretty horrific time of it

I know I've read it but my memory's terrible - how long do they not recommend TTCing? Til after the treatment? And no, of course we don't mind you sticking around :) In fact, we may well be offended if you left ;)

It's until after the treatment as pregnancy hormones may make it difficult to treat. Then I guess there will be a period of recovery as such (as I'm sure it'll be tender down there). I know they say not to have sex for 5 days if you have a biopsy so I'd imagine it would be something similar to that for after the treatment itself.

Funnily enough I've had my hospital appointment for the colposcopy come through already. It's Tuesday 28th. It says that they may do the treatment at the same time (although they may not). From what I understand after the treatment you have to have another test just to check that they got everything. And obviously if they've missed anything you need to go through it all again. Let's hope I get someone who's efficient :D.

And thanks to those who have said I could stay - although I would have called you all moo's if you said I had to go :rotfl:

Thought i would just stop by and report in, no AF here for me and im sat up in bed as ive spent the afternoon getting dizzy spells. The room is still spinning now which is driving me mental, guess I have an ear infection on the way  at least we've had some decent rain so the humidity is gone now :j

Hope you and yours are all well where ever you are :D

    Hi Scarly, welcome :)
So they've done the blood test but nothing else? Are you going to see a gynae? Are they gonna do a scan? Are they going to follow up on that initial test in any way? (I have PCOS too btw)

Hi bigzippy! Yes, yes and ... yes? I've had the blood tests, they said I had low progesterone and high testosterone (sp?), but normal oestrogen. I have an ultrasound next Friday and then I have a follow up appt with the Doc the Friday after to discuss the results. So far I've had no information from the Doc at all, other than that my blood test results were 'indicative' of PCOS but he hasn't proscribed me anything or suggested any way of dealing with PCOS. I did some googling and found that diet and exercise seemed pretty key to managing it, so I thought I'd kick-start those as quick as possible while I'm waiting for the tests and results. Particularly I heard that low-sugar/carb, high-protein diets were particularly good. How long have you been diagnosed? Any good tips for me? Particularly things I should prompt the Doc on? The one I have now believes me more than the last one (at least he ordered the tests) but he's still not exactly been forthcoming with information...

I don't hold shares in Agnus Castus Corp. or anything, but you could try giving that a go to regulate your cycles? I can't remember if you said whether you temp or not? Just wondering if you have been ov-ing the past couple of months...

Hi BB! What's Agnus Castus? :o I did think about temping but it seemed like quite a lot of effort, plus I don't have a sensitive enough thermometer. I know they're available relatively cheaply, but don't you need to take the temp at the same time every morning, and not move before you do it? I think I'd really struggle doing that! It's quite likely I haven't been ov-ing, particularly if it is PCOS. Typical eh? Everything seems fine, so you start getting down to the serious business of TTC and suddenly your body throws a major curveball at you!

Ah well, keep saying to myself that of all the things to go wrong, PCOS seems like one of the easiest to manage!

Oh and Sexymouse, thanks for including me! I'm on CD1, just started AF for first time in 3 months...

    Hi Scarly

Like you I've recently been diagnosed with PCOS although I'm still having the tests done to confirm it.

I hadn't had a period for at least 8 months when I went to the doctor and taking into consideration I was prescribed Metformin as the doc thinks I have insulin resistance. Metformin is basically a diabetes treatment but somehow it also helps with PCOS and can help to regulate cycles.

For me it seems to be working. About 4 days of taking the tablet I got my first period. My cycle lasted 33 days which is obviously a bit longer than it should have and today I got my second period. So it looks like I'm starting to get a bit of a menstrual cycle again and that's down to the Metformin.

So far it looks like I'm still not ovulating but that could change. There's another drug that they prescribe called clomid which is designed to trigger ovulation (from what I understand). I'm hoping I don't need to take this as I've heard you need to be at least BMI 30 (or under of course) and I'm a bit of a fatty so they wouldn't give it to me :D. But if I remember rightly if you do need help in this area weight wouldn't be an issue for you.

Like you I've read that low carb diets are ideal for those with PCOS and my doctor suggested Atkins. I've gone against her advice and started weight watchers as I feel I need to ease myself into weight loss and I just think I'm more likely to stick to a diet that's more flexible. It seems to work too as I lost 5lb this week.

Anyway I think I'm waffling now.

Either way I wouldn't be too worried about the PCOS. It seems quite common and whilst it can make it difficult to conceive it seems like there is a lot of help you can get in medication etc. And like you said lifestyle seems to have a big influence.

Anyway, still waffling so I'll shut up now :o

Sexymouse - thanks for filling QQ's boots and updating the list for us all. If you do it again whilst QQ's deserted us (only joking QQ) would you mind changing my CD? Today was CD1 for me.

P.S. I know I'm a cheeky mare for just presuming that you're going to update it again :-0

    Evening ladies,

Just got back from taking my dad out for an early father's day curry. I'm absolutely stuffed now! No worries with updating (as long as I remember to do it tomorrow, although it won't be until the evening as I'll be at work). I've just changed your CDs fannyanna and scarly. Having just clicked on the link to her chart emsbet, it does look like kelly got a BFP on 5th June. I don't remember her announcing it though, so I don't want to add it to the graduates list until she confirms it on here, just in case. Let us all know if you're reading kellyg.

Well I'd better be heading off to bed soon, as I've got work tomorrow, and first lesson is French! (I need to be wide awake for this one, as it's been a long time since I've learnt French, and only the second time I'll have taught it.)

Have put my Mooncup in (sorry if TMI) just in case the bleeding today was AF, as if it is, she has a habit of coming on heavily in the middle of the night. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it's not, and trying to stay positive, but I have a feeling that the witch is on her way as it's so long since I had the positive OPK (2 weeks ago) that I don't think it could be implantation bleeding. (Will have to google to see how long after ovulation, implantation can take place.)

Hugs to all those who need or want them,

    sexymouse xx
