Did I ask?:eek:There can't have been anybody in the store who didn't hear me. Firstly very nicely (like I always do) speaking to the checkout girl. Then a bit more grumpy to her Supervisor - (at this stage I was wheeled off to somewhere quiet so that nobody could hear me. Then I demanded the Manager - fat lot of good she was. Then Head Office - but Mr T was playing golf.

Also, as Ive been feeling guilty about all these wonderful goodies I thought I'd donate some to a new Basics Bank being set up locally.
yes, I've done similar. We have a local charity which collects food and household goods for families in need. I have just donated a fairly sizeable amount of groceries (thankyou tesco :T) to the charity and they were over the moon. Sharing the love (and the goodies) - it makes everybody happy0 -

In regards to the Clubcard issue, why can't you just get the points added on afterwards from the receipt, once the corresponding coucher has been used so receipt no longer needed for anything, and all DTD is done.
So long as you do that each time, so never actually using your Clubcard at the time of any purchase, then there can't be any tracking implications etc, as everything is done and dusted before the Clubcard comes into it. And for the next voucher and the next and the next, you're still not using your CC until afterwards.
Am I missing something??
When they add the reciept to your account it adds the total transaction too. Also means you can be tracked to which transactions you have done"Save the cheerleader - Save the world"0 -

I would have just simply pointed out at the time, that they had torn the receipt by accident, and could they please reprint a new slip. That way you would put them in the invidious position of either having to admit they had torn the receipt on purpose (at which point you could take it up with Head Office Customer Service) or they need to sort out giving you a full receipt (if the till won't reprint, voiding the transaction, and putting it through the till again). Keep it cheerful, and the problem is the assistants. Get angry, and the problem is yours.
There is NOTHING in the T&Cs to say that you cannot price match against a purchase where you have already used a discount coupon.
If you think about it from how the scheme is meant to be used -
1. Shopper goes to Tesco and does a normal shop.
2. Shopper goes home and puts details into the website.
3. Shopper gets told Tesco is cheaper than Asda or gets a voucher for a couple of quid on a hundred pound shop.
4. Shopper goes to Tesco and does a normal shop and uses the voucher for a couple of quid.
5. Shopper goes home and puts details into the website.
6. Shopper gets told Tesco is cheaper than Asda or gets a voucher for a couple of quid on a hundred pound shop.
7. Repeat forever.
Thanks, I was in two minds over whether to complain and draw attention to the matter. If this seems to be a one off and nobody else has had the same issue, I'll keep my mouth closed and let it go but completely agree with your thoughts.
My recollection of the T&Cs is that there's a clause along the lines of: we reserve the right to refuse cashback if we think you are claiming "against the spirit" of the promotion.
I thought that was quite a subjective term.
I would agrue that regardless of what you are buying or which method of payment you are using, the spirit of the promotion is to ensure you can confidently shop at Tesco safe in the knowledge that you will not be paying more than would be the case if you went to Asda.0 -
