  • I have received a reply from Frederickson today acknowledging receipt of my letter but saying they are no longer dealing with the account and have passed it back to their client.

What should be my next move?

Did they ever say who the client was?

They said their client was Arrow Global Guernsey Limited but I've never heard of them and certainly never had any correspondence from them.

If it was me, I would just sit tight.

Arrow are just another firm of debt collectors, so if you get anything from them direct then the same applies; i.e "prove that I owe you anything, or get lost"

  • My brother received a letter from them just before Christmas. I searched this site for any info I could find and found this thread. We used the template letter given in this thread, not giving any info that wasn't required. Shortly after we sent it, he got a letter threatening reposession of goods but we waited till we were sure they got the letter. (we sent it recorded delivery) A couple of weeks later we got a reply from them saying they had received the letter and would be in contact shortly. Anyway, yesterday he received the latest letter from them which says "Please note that we are no longer instructed in connection with this matter and have returned the matter to our client"

SUCCESS!! Thank you so much for the advice, IT REALLY WORKED!

I had a letter from these people yesterday saying Nat West had passed my 'alleged' debt onto them. I also hada letter from Nat west saying they had passed the debt on to AG. This seems strange to me because Natwest had passed the debt on to Apex of Stratford upon Avon some 3 or 4 years ago!!!
In 2009 I had real money problems and applied, and got, a DRO. This debt that AG claim I owe was listed on the DRO, so why are they asking for payment? I though after 1 year the debt were automatically written off. I have ignored their letter, so will wait and see if there are any more .....

Firstly, tell the Official Receiver that these people have contacted you and send a copy of the letter to them.

    Write to AG with...
    Your Address

    Date:

    Creditors Address.

NOTICE: Pursuit of a debt included in a Debt Releief Order. Do not ignore this letter. You must cease collection activity IMMEDIATELY.

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Account No: 4563210025897412

You have contacted us regarding the account with the above reference number, which you claim is owed by ourselves.

I would point out that the account was included in my Debt Relief Order which commenced on <date> and finished on <date>.

Consequently, the debt in question is no longer my legal responsibility.

ALL contact regarding the debt MUST be addressed to the Official Receiver's Office dealing with the case.

The address of the Official Receiver is below.

    <Address of the OR.
    >

A copy of the DRO is enclosed for your convenience.

Please note that the Official Receiver has requested that all future contact from your company regarding these accounts is reported and forwarded to themselves, and that continued contact with myself may result in Official Receiver taking enforcement actions against your organisation.

Please also note that we are familiar with the ‘Office of Fair Trading Debt Collection Guidance’ which states that it is unfair to send demands for payment to an individual when the debt is not due.

In not ceasing collection activity whilst investigating a reasonably queried or disputed debt you are using deceptive/and or unfair methods.

Furthermore, ignoring and/or disregarding claims that debts have been settled or are disputed and continuing to make unjustified demands for payment amounts to physical/psychological harassment.

In addition, your continued telephone calls are in breach of the Office of Fair Trading guidelines. If you continue with them after the receipt of this letter an official complaint, together with a log recording the times and frequency of the calls will be passed both to that office and to the Trading Standards office.

This type of debt collection method is contrary to the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, in that it is intended to cause alarm and distress to the recipient.

Your methods will not be tolerated.

A formal complaint will be submitted to the relevant authorities. This will be relevant to questions of your fitness to hold a licence under the Consumer Credit Act, whether or not it results in a prosecution.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

We await your written confirmation that this matter is now closed.

We look forward to your reply.

    Yours faithfully

  • I also received a letter today from Arrow Global Guernsey Ltd and I know I owe no money to credit groups as I keep a firm track of all my debt's. But I did get a letter from an old loan company saying that they had misplaced my records last year and to be aware of any letters and or calls regarding fraud and hey presto I get this. I am going to contact the company that lost my details i.e. Shopacheck. Then send a copy of this letter and the one from Shopacheck to the Fraud consumer awareness group and do nothing else. Any one else get this kind of letter I strongly urge you to do the same and also go to the fraud website and protect yourself as best you can.
  • my partner has today received a similar letter from Rossendales Debt collectors on behalf of Arrow Global Guernsey Ltd. The first letter was the fishing letter searching for him for a personal matter under a previous address with his name spelt incorrectly. We have now received the further action letter as mentioned above threatening to utilise their experience in the management of data etc....this letter says the client is Arrow etc Ltd and the debt is £3959.10. My partner had a lot of debt two years ago and took redundancy and a pension drawdown to pay them off as best he could. We used an insolvency practitioner who approached all of the creditors in writing offering them a pro rata share of the money. This included the MBNA credit card company who never replied in any way to any letters either from ourselves or the insolvency people. Now two years later with all other debts settled we believe this to be the amount now being chased although the letter does not mention the MBNA at all. Can anyone advise us how to proceed as the £26K money we had has all been paid to other creditors.
