Warning long post with loads of pics showing detailed explanation of how to put photos on mse.

First of all, if you haven't already, create an account with Photobucket and upload your pics from your computer into an album onto it. You can reduce the file size using edit or set the upload size initially and all your pics will be small as they are uploaded (recommended)

To reply on here, open up one tab with Photobucket and one for Mse. Open up the 'Reply to Thread' box on mse and keep it open as you flick onto the tab to Photobucket.

Select the photo you want on Photobucket:

    SDC15590.jpg

Then underneath it you have 5 options, choose Direct Link

    SDC15591.jpg

    and click on it

    Then right click on it:
    SDC15592.jpg
    and select the option Copy

Next, click your tab onto MSE and go back to your 'Reply to Thread' box.

If you want to write something before the picture, write it now and when you are ready to put your picture in, click on the mountain icon above the text box:

    SDC15596.jpg

This one. It will bring up a box like this:
    SDC15600.jpg

    SDC15601.jpg
delete the bit that says http:// and paste the code you have got from your picture on Photobucket:

    SDC15602.jpg

    SDC15603.jpg
    Press OK

and your picture will appear in your post:
    SDC15606.jpg

Add any further writing if you need underneath and then press Submit Reply in the usual way.

Phew! It does sound a bit complicated but once you've done it a few times you'll wonder why you ever had a problem.

qwiksave -love the pegs:T I did some last year but think I used floral paper.........like the button idea..sort of sets it off. Have to try that.
Where's the best place to get magnets from for the back of them ? Can't remember where I got mine last year and I did them to stick on to the fridge.

Spent today sorting through my fabric samples into some sort of colour order.......thought I'd have a go at a patchwork border for the edge of a tea towel then got all confused which ones to use and hadn 't got the right cotton anyway............lol
So I covered a notebook with a bigger piece of fabric........nice rust shade stripes.........tied it with a leather cord.....make a nice sketchbook for my son. Think his christmas box will be about full now............lol
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Thanks Mary, I didn't put magnets on these, they are for moveable papers. My docrafts craft shop has stocked them in the past but failing that I think ebay may be your best bet.

Thinking again about the pegs .........as I put magnets on them last year maybe this year if I miss off the magnet they'll seem like a totally different little pressie.
I've got some nice old wooden pegs lurking about somewhere.
Must stop looking at all these ideas.........my ''stuff to do'' list gets longer and longer..............lol:rotfl:

I've got so much crafting I want to do for Christmas and went in to a mini-panic this evening when I realised I'm quickly running out of time!

Tonight I've started to knit a Christmas stocking garland. I can't decide whether to knit 24 and use it as an advent calendar or just leave it as a nice little garland.

I also plan to make a felt garland with lots of little felt items like trees, mittens, stockings etc.

I saved all my Christmas cards last year so plan to make my own tags. I've just bought some nice decorative scissors so that they can look pretty! :D

Oh, and I've got two hamper pressies to put together as well as a whole bunch of reindeer food, snowman poo and reindeer poo! I think I'd better stop procrastinating and start getting on with it all!

Susan, I have made a photo record of how I put this picture on, I will be making up a detailed step-by-step post soon. ;)

I think these would look great attached to cork notice board, which I think you can pick up in the pound shops. Or even better on something like this http://www.daisywhite.co.uk/acatalog/info_168.html which I'm guessing wouldn't be too hard to make from a cork noticeboard.

Some lovely ideas on here, as always.

  • If anyone is making a movie hamper there are sachets of microwave popcorn, Butterkist sweet, for 29p in home bargains. They are the ones that are individually wrapped which would be good to include as they look more self contained than splitting a bigger box.

Sounds perfect! Such a pain I dont have HB anywhere near :(

Love the pegs! I've done some pegs this year, first time doing them so they are pretty basic, I bought wooden pegs from £1 shop and some ribbon (also £1 shop) I got pink, green and orange it was 5 designs of each colour so I've made them up into sets of 5 with strips of magnetic sheet on the back and have made some labels. Planning on putting them in cello bags but haven't quite got it to look right in the bags yet :(

Thanks for that link, I made one of these the other day using a canvas from the 99p store but couldnt get the pics to stay behind the ribbons. After looking at the pic in the link realised I hadnt sewn the buttons on where the ribbons meet so will finish that off later and hopefully it will work xx
