Oh my - I wasn't around yesterday and look at how much chat has been going on! I've skimmed through so thank you for the welcomes.
I'll add a bit to the getting to know you chat.
My name is Susan and I'm 61 with two children and five grandchildren aged between 6 and 14. I live at the seaside on the north-west Wales coast in a house with lovely sea and mountain views. We're originally from Birmingham. Until last year OH and I had a restaurant here which we ran for 15 years, now forced to retire through OH's ill health and moved to a house which we had renovated. I have a blog for the renovation.
Mary-op - I picked up on your post about your OH and I can empathise. My OH has been battling an incurable condition for almost two years, 6 months of chemo last year didn't bring about the remission prayed for and after a further 5 chemos he is now in the recovery stage of a stem cell (bone marrow) transplant. He has been in hospital since early October and we're hoping he may be home for Christmas. No idea yet if there will be a better prognosis after this treatment. I will keep you and your OH in my thoughts.
If I can catch up on my housework (oooh, dirty word :rotfl: ) today then I'm hoping to start on a couple of Christmas cards. I haven't crafted for about 18 months and am hoping to get back into it but my cards don't come near those on the blogs linked too. I will have to catch up on the latest trends and try something new! I am awaiting delivery of a Cuttlebug so hopefully that will kickstart some inspiration.
P.S. Rusty - Just had a look at your easel cards, I think they're lovely. I see you say they're quick and easy to make, do you have a link to any simple instructions for them? I'd love to have a go.
Thankyou Tomsmum
Here is a you tube video, although I am cheating at the minute and using 4x4 cards rather than cutting my own which makes it even easier

Thanks Rusty, that explains it really well. I'll make one for my card-making friend and hope to impress her, I don't think she's seen one of those!0 -
Hi, I posted a while back, thought I would get some ideas from here, I have but I've been busy doing them!
I find it difficult to be imaginative so stick to tried and trusted.
To add to the programming stuff, until recently I worked in IT too, in a building company so not much crafty talk from plumbers!
I have put some of my cards on my blog, is it ok to put a link? I only use the blog for sharing photos with family its not selling anything.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Hi its fine to put your blog addy on here look forward to seeing your cards.0 -
Hi girls, for all you with Cuttlebugs I've found this great site, really reasonable prices and no matter how small your order postage is free. Delivered to me recorded within a couple of days. Actually on inspection it's more than Cuttlebug stuff but that's what I was searching for. MrsTidge/Glittermum - NO BUYING till after Christmas!!
Bookmark but don't touch!
eta: Would help if I gave you the link wouldn't it? doh! http://www.cuttingedgecrafts.co.uk
I can second this recommendation - bought some cuttlekids plates for "& son" as they were on his Christmas list he says his others are too marked - how precious is he? They arrived very quickly and were far cheaper than anywhere else including ebay.
I too am an "IT geek" of sorts but try and avoid coding whenever I possibly can - can just about get by in SAS but SQL blows my mind!0 -
