Tempted to get some of these problem is both my living room and dining room use candle bulbs, I spend most of time in dining room only going into living room to watch tv

Are they any good in small lamps, if I buy a lamp just to use during day? any good to use a night time ?

There are ES candle bulbs if you click on the "energy saving bulbs at half price link" further down the page.

Just wondering. We only have one light in the livingroom. Would this be bright enough? (being only 25W)

    Thanks for any help :)

The Incandescent Equivalent rating for the 25W bulb is 100W. The Incandescent Equivalent rating for the 20W bulb is 60W. If you have a cluster light, you may want multiple 20W bulbs, but if it is a standalone light then you may want a single 25W bulb to give you the quivalent of a 100W standard bulb.

Oh good lord, thankyou I looked at the light's in the link & realised I have some of those in the cupboard from when Tesco sold the energy saving bulbs for a mad price of 10p or something I just stuck them in the cupboard not thinking they were anything special, will have to dig them out & give them a try, thanks jackieb.

I didn't notice that they were all reduced. Thanks. I have candle bulbs in my wall lights in the livingroom so need to order more!

I think they're fine in lamps. My husband sits at our kitchen table with a lamp on the table while he's on his laptop. The dining bit is the old kitchen and we don't have a window in there. I wanted a sunpipe but these bulbs are much cheaper. :D Food looks more appetising under these lights too - honestly!

Excuse the mess. :o There's only one lamp switched on the table. I was experimenting to see what one was best. My husband practically lives in his corner. He's like a moth to a light. :p

For anyone who orders one of these for the first time, i'd love to know what you think of them.

There are 2 bulbs on in that photo. One is plenty but it says that 2 are the equivelant to a SAD light, so when dh is on his laptop he switches on the lamp. He hates the dark days and nights of winter. He says it helps.

Hi i have used one last year, i borrowed my mums as she never uses it, its a big phillips one....they are good and i did notice myself pick up when i had it on over time as they say its a cummulative effect.

I might use it again this year, but i got some of these bulbs for my office as i work from home and its a dark room, the SAD light can be used for as little as half hour on full whack x amount of distance from your face....;) But they aren't cheap, i'm hoping these bulbs are a good alternative for the price.
