    I couldn't get mine to accept 5 lines either. Either there's some techie bug things going on, or the instructions aren't as clear as they could be :confused:

    Also when I tried to put the first line in font 3 it said something about text being too big, but you're supposed to be allowed to use font 3 so I don't know why that was, unless you can't use it in conjunction with bold.

    I can’t say that, before, I’d considered the possibility of people’s signatures being a problem. Here are two ideas from me.
    1. DFW Code in the style of Geek Code. Not entirely sure about this one. People’s signatures are already pretty ‘dense’ and it seems that DFWers’ attempts to cram all their personal information into the new, limited space might be resulting in worse signatures.

    2. Lighten up on the limits. Have a new limit of, say, 600 characters and 7 lines, but with the forum admin applying a technical fix. If there was more difference between signature text and the body of the post, they’d be a whole lot easier to skip over when scanning down a page. Below is a mock up for pandapaws’ post that started this thread.

    Wouldn't work. Geek code works by compressing common expressions. I'm not sure how exactly you would compress "£4,567.44" much further than stripping 2 characters out.

    Or have "extended signatures" as in the same way you can check who has thanked you. Except of course, you can default them to always being open.

    I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!

    YAY, I've got a new sig. (Well, temporarily until I've got the patience to come up with one similar to the old one that's, or until they remove it!). Here goes!

    Thanks ZTD!:iloveyou:

    There are some things that many people want to record in their signatures.
    2£$ = £2 Savers’ Club
    O¢ = Olympic Challenge
    Mz = Moozie
    WL = Weight Loss
    and similar. You’ve already got
    DFD = Debt Free Date
    and some others. They might not be much of a saving, but, with such a low limit, one or two characters saved could mean the difference between squeezing it all in and not.

    You probably need some new DFW t-shirts saying “I went to the MSE forum and all I got was this lousy signature.” Not, of course, to be applied to pandapaws’ wonderful new one, until it’s changed to “Showoff – FT3”. :D

    V good idea. I don’t know the inner workings of the forum software, but I don’t see that it should be an impossibility to adapt the template for the thanks box.
