Am I the only person in the world that can't do this hypertext link thing.... ? I wanted to send a suggestion to MSE Andrea but I've no idea how. Could the reply be in the language you'd use when talking to a small child please?0

Ok... first go to the thread or the single post that you are choosing to hyperlink to.
Right click in the address bar of your browser where it says http://forums.moneysaving...etc etc and choose "copy"
Now start your PM or your post..
The easiest way is not to hyperlink because that depends on which editor you are using so...
..simply write your PM...etc etc this post/thread (and now hit Paste!) Or the easy way to paste CTRL+v
That'll give a straightforward link such as www, example, com

Go to the thread you want to link to (if you just want to link to one post click the number at the top right of that post).
In the bar at the top where you type www.moneysavingexpert.com every morning(the address bar) you will see a load of nonsence starting http:\\forums.moneysavingexpert........ click on it and it should all highlight in blue if not click on the end of the writting with you left mouse button and hold the button down then drag it to the start so it all highlights, let go of the mouse button.
On your keyboard hold down Ctrl then press C let go of both keys.
This copys the link then you have 2 options:
The dead easy way
In the message click where you want the link to be
Hold down Ctrl again and this time press V then let go (this pastes it)
The gobbledegook you copied earlier (the link) will appear.
Thats is, done.
The fancy way
If you want to do HERE type links.
in the message box type what ever word you want i.e HERE or THIS or 'the gardening thread'
highlight the word(s) you want to be the link then click on the picture of the world with a paperclip underneath down and right from where you get smiles from on the tool bar above the message box
Another box will appear.
Delete what is in the box
Hold down Ctrl again and this time press V then let go (this pastes it)
The gobbledegook you copied earlier (the link) will appear.
Click OK
The words you highlighted will go blue
Thats it done.
