Sterilising tablets get rid of tea stains from cups so it would probably work on you top too. They are almost effectivley sort of (don't hold me liable if I'm wrong because I've seen this argument already;) ) really watered down thin bleach so
1. try a bit of you top you can't see to well first and
2. if you haven't got sterilising tablets you could ty watering down some thin bleach.When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
I take it you've tried bological washing powder?
I use it to get rid of tea stains in mugs. Don't put the cups in the washing machine though.

I got tea stains out of a pale pink top belonging to Mrs MATH this week it had survived a couple of washes and had been set it byt the hot water. I soaked in a very mild bleach solution (1/4pt bleach to 20 gals of water) for three hrs. The stain has gone and the fabirc unfaded.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

Yesterday I washed some white shirts with grubby collars and a white t-shirt with a spag bol stain with Tesco Value powder and a crushed up sterilising tablet, it worked greatBulletproof0
