Never tried it on clothes but my Dad used to use denture cleaner to get tea stains from the teapot.
Kim and Aggie on "how clean is your house" used denture cleaner tablets on some net curtains on Thursday. Brought them up a treat!0 -
Hi everyone,
been a lurker on this fab thread for a while so thanks to everyone who posts on here, you're all so clever! :T
My other half cleverly put a tea bag in his (very expensive) shirt pocket during the day and put the shirt with tea bag intact into the washing machine. Now all the clothes have a faint brown-ness to them and the shirt is very dark brown around the pocket.
Any ideas? I've tried the vanish pink stuff but that didn't work. Its a whole 8kg wash as well so all the kids clothes seem ruined!
Any help greatly appreciated!0 -
Hi
This is a tough one and the following is all I can find in an old Dairy Diary:
For tea, coffee, curry, tomato sause and fruit stains apply a glycerene solution (diluted one part to 2 parts water) and leave for 1 hour then soak or wash in a heavy duty detergent containing oxygen bleach.
It does say to test for colour fastness and I'm not sure if it is colours or whites that is affected. Because it is a full load it may be something you need to soak in a bath and then transfer to the washing machine.
Good luck and remember to remind your other half of the calamity, every day the stains remain!!!Dawnie :j0 -
I don't have any suggestions for you, but we do have an existing thread on removing tea stains from clothing, so I'll add this thread to that so that you can take a look at previous answers
