I was changing my baby and when i took her white top off (my fave outfit that shes only worn once) and i put it on the table while i finished. Now i drink black tea and my lad knocked it over....right over the top!!
I have washed it normally but there is still staining, whats the best thing for getting rid of the stains?? Or am i going to have to resort to bleaching it??
Many thanks!0 -
try pretreating it with a liquid detergent before you wash it - i find this works better than practically anything else0

Try soaking in Napisan, it has transformed my whites. (i.e they are white now instead of manky grey lol)I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute :whistle:0

I have heard of Napisan working wonders on white cloth. I think it's time I tried it too.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -
An idea from a stain remover book I have
Soak for a couple of hours in 1 tablespoon of borax dissolved in a little hot water and added to 2 cups of water.
It also mentions using lemon juice to fade the stain, I had great results on a rust stain with lemon juice, so if all else fails it might be worth a try.0 -
How about carpet stain remover? I've done that before.0

how do I get tea stain out of white cotton cardigan ???0
-
Hi purple ronnie,
I'd soak the cardigan in your usual detergent, then remove and add borax directly onto the stain while the item is still wet. Leave for about half an hour then wash as you usually would. I find this nearly always removes the stain.
If that fails, as the cardigan is white, you could use soak it in water with a little bleach to see if that lifts it.
There's an older thread that might help:
