Thanks for that, I have been on and filled out the forms and the one that I think we are going to go for is the britax first class si comfort. I had a look at the independant reviews and apparently it's not easy to fit safely so I might pop into kwikfit to make sure. I am sure it won't cost to much.....

We have the first class si comfort, its a doddle to fit, it also has 2 ways of fitting so if your belts have a long webbing (Vectra) like mine it can be fitted safely to eliminate buckle crunch.

Make sure you get the latest version as it has lots of padding under the seat the older ones dont and are uncomfortable

how do you know have you sat in it:rotfl: :rotfl:

Glad I don't have the problem of car/booster seats anymore as DD is 11 and well over height requirements.

I did have a problem when she was a baby though. By 6 months she was too tall for her rear facing Rock A Tot seat. She wasn't nowhere heavy enough for the forward facing seat though. We had to make a judgement call as if there was an accident when she was rear facing her knees were going into her face. She could also push against the back of the car seat with her legs and loosen her seat. We bought the Britax forward facing seat that cost about £100 (and that was 11 years ago) and she was much happier in that. Not only could see see more but she was safer and better restrained.

It's good to see you can now get advice on which seats fit which cars and how to fit them as I remember having to try loads to get one to fit properly on the seat (OH a bit of an anorak and took the fitting very seriously) and it just so happened it was the most expensive one in the shop that fitted - typical!

Just back from toysrus, the assistant told us that at her age, the graco one is much better and actually came to the shop to show us how. she said the britax one just much more stable forward facing. She also said about being inbetween 20-29 lbs and being able to sit up unaided and being 9 months. Thank you all

Oh that's a shame, it was much funnier imagining you sitting in the seat to test it's comfort rating:D

we've got the britax combination one too. it's high up though, so we tend to bash the baby on the head when getting him into his seat

he's so tall but wasn't ready for a forward facing seat at 5 months so a combination seat seemed to be the only answer. i have bought a lightweight one (britax again) for using in my mum's car but we still use the combination one for most journeys because it reclines well and i prefer the 5 point harness, i suppose i'm more worried if we're travelling on a motorway.

If anyone is considering buying their toddler a britax booster seat this month, you might be interested to know that they're bringing out an isofix version of the seat at the end of this month.

It will be more expensive than the current seats, but have the benefit of clipping directly into the actual car frame making it safer. It will still use an adult seatbelt to secure the child, but the seatbelt will no longer be securing the seat too.

Now to hang on and find out who's selling it for the lowest price!

    It's on sale now.
May all your dots fall silently to the ground.
