I've just come back from a 14 day holiday. ;)

Accomodation was in 3 separate 4* hotels of their brand

Highest room rate should have been $330 per night (6 nights in Tel Aviv on the beach)
Average room rate over the 14 days $250 Total cost $3500

    Cost to me NOWT :D

All paid for by hotel points gained through mystery shopping over about 1 year

    You decide ;)

    BTW
The flight was a mysteryshop too :D:D

How'd you get that many hotel stays? Which company(ies)? I've only ever seen one offered from my collection of companies.

Mostly with RE Business midweek visits.

Done about 40 of them, though I think that has been curtailed as the new allocator is apply the 9 month rule.

I used to help out on the stragglers and the previous allocator was good to me with extra fees etc.

I received a begging mail for one of the ones I do and replied to say that I could do it, only to be told that I couldn't because of this rule. Why mail me and ask me to do this particular one then?!

I'm not in your league though, 40 is a massive amount, good on you :D. I'd not get enough for a holiday for quite some time, especially as I don't get points for all mine either, some don't qualify.

PM me for a tip ;)

I'm chasing up with the previous allocator to see what's going on with the 9 month rule.
  • Good evening. I've just noticed that for two jobs I did for grassroots on the same day, only one was paid yesterday. The other is still pending. Should I be worried???? Can't think of any issues arising from the visit and no-one has contacted me........ The jobs were for different companies and the one not paid (yet)was a phone shop :(.

    Anyone else had this?

  • :(- charming, GAP have got rid of me, I'd only done one assignment, Not sure it's worth doing it if there's no GAP jobs, I'm gutted!

I honestly can't think what I did wrong, although I think my second timing may have been a few seconds out as I struggled to reset my timer. I've done 2 for react now and got one 9/10 and one 10/10, so surely I can't be that bad! I can't even email as they've deleted my account!

Oh well, I'll sign up with a few more perhaps, then may look into doing some phone work. Does anyone else think it's worth doing without GAP jobs? I'm in SE London/ NW Kent area.

I've only done one job for GAP which was at the beginning of this week (a burger one), and I used my watch for timing as I thought it would be better than a stopwatch or my iPOd which also has a stopwatch facility (can't help thinking that it's a bit of a giveaway to be pressing buttons on something in front of the staff!!). My watch has a second hand, so I thought it was ok and is included as one of their choices on the Webexpress report. I submitted my report within about an hour and thought no more of it. I've come home to an e-mail from this today asking me to confirm what timing device I used, and saying that if I don't write back to them within 24 hours, my assignment will be cancelled. I've replied (within 3 hours of receiving the e-mail) but when I have checked my profile 5 minutes later, it says that my assignment has been rejected / cancelled!! I'm amazed!

I decided to try GAP my cousin was with them, although she did warn me that they can be very pernickity, and she herself had had an assignment rejected because her report was not all glowing about the (same) burger company. I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt - wish I hadn't bothered.

Oh yeah, and I forgot to say that I only did the assignment in the first place because they called me the day before and asked me to do it! I registered with them a couple of months ago but had not got around to doing any jobs yet.

And I've got another assignment sceduled for Friday this week... not sure I want to do it now. If I walk in with my iPod in my hand on stopwatch mode, that's got to be a dead giveaway, hasn't it?

And the visit on Monday was actually fabulous! My report was glowing!

I'm also with Retaileyes, which has fits and starts of loads of jobs being available. Unfortunately for me, I work for one of the companies that they provide mystery shoppers for and so I am no eligible for those particular jobs :-( But I've had some nice meals out and a hotel stay, which was not bad!

Well, back to the drawing board of mystery shopping, I guess.. although thanks to Becles for listing all the companies at the beginning of this thread; I will try some of them.
