What a ridiculous story, and so symptomatic of modern life.
Here we have a person effectively losing their job because two (sorry to say this, but it's true) immature people - a supervisor and their staff member - got into a childish fight by email, txt and bloody Facebook.
Perhaps if one or the other of you actually TALKED to each other face to face, rather than relying on electronic messaging, this wouldn't have happened.
Hey, people, let's talk to each other, shall we?
I have got to admit that the sheer volume of "Facebook dismissals" I hear about makes me wonder why anyone goes on there. Believe me, it is rapidly overtaking "spent five hours a day browsing the internet" as a cause for dismissals.
But I have to agree with Bendix. Would this be an opportune moment to ask - "what is Facebook?"0 -

sum1 i worked with stalked me on FB adding me daily for a good 2 weeks until i blocked them. so they started following me around and dipping in my convos with others. TOTAL FRUIT LOOP!
i say keep personal life and professional life separate. no1 will dare ask u why u didnt 'accept' their request. if they do, that says alot about them really doesnt it?!0 -

It’s kind of funny that Chuckley should mention stalkers, because that was just what I was thinking. About DVardysShadow. I should have said this before, but I was too worried about ending up with a tongue-lashing from DVS myself, and now I have registered another user name for the site because I am a regular poster here and don’t want to end up being stalked across the site for saying this.
DVardysShadow, you need to get over yourself. SarEl is right. Ever since she started posting here you have been making barbed comments and jibes aimed at her. For no reason at all that I can think of. Your attack on her a few days ago was totally uncalled for. It was nasty, vindictive and petty. You were not satisfied with that, because you also had to have the last word no matter what. And I don’t know what others reading it thought but I thought that your final post was nothing less than a threat, which I took to mean that you had identified who she really is and would use this forum to damage her professional reputation. If you can, because I really think you over rate yourself if you think that somebody like you can damage someone’s reputation by identifying a barrister who is doing nothing but helping and advising people on a free forum. And of course you really should be careful of such threats because blackmail is illegal in this country. SarEl showed herself as the better person by saying that she was stopping the exchange and doing so, but you couldn’t leave it at that.
So here you are stalking her around the board and continuing your campaign of nasty comments and bullying. It’s funny too that you are so keen to direct people’s attention to that thread, which in your position I would not be so keen to do because it really doesn’t show you off in a good light. Why not direct them to the thread Appealing against Dismissal which was posted on 30th August 2010? In case you have forgotten it that would be the later thread where you wrongly advised someone on the law and SarEl corrected your comments. And she did so without any comment about your being wrong and without any nasty comments to or about you. Who is the better person here?
You are acting like a hysterical child who has had their toys taken off them. SarEl gives good and valuable advice to people who need it. People come here for advice. That’s the point of asking for it, to get it. If they or you don’t like that advice or anything else, then just don’t read it or ignore it. But you don’t have any rights more than anyone else on this site, and you don’t get to tell people what they can and can’t post, what they should say, or whether they can post or not. But stalking her around the site and trying to goad her into replying in kind just isn’t on. You are showing yourself up and nobody else. Get over yourself and leave it out.0 -
Facebook and work should never mix, I only use facebook to keep in touch with rellies abroad.
Linkedin is ok and doesn't seem to attract the same level of idiots that Face book does, can be very interesting looking up someones Facebook page when they send me CVs.0 -

How do you know that the person that sent the CV is the same person that has the facebook page?0 -
I have just been on the phone to ACAS and they have advised that we're going ahead with the reconcilliation program as they should not of sacked me on the spot as I had not commited anything that was gross misconduct.
Have asked my former employer for a weeks wages as I should of had when they fired me. If they refuse it goes to tribunal. I still have the messages she sent me on Facebook as they deliver them to your email address and I have saved them.
Still feel very let down that someone who you thought was your friend can turn on you that way and that the directors are so under her spell they fired me!Bank Charges won £4,800 in 2006 From LloydsTSB
