I'm not a techie so apologies to those that understand all this better than I do but, why is it that whenever we have shutdowns for maintenance, the system ends up with so many faults afterwards? So many things need ironing out for god's sake!

    Hi folks

I've no idea what's going on - the site is very fast for me

I will ask the team - but it is a weekend lunchtime - we are not a 24 hours serviced operation.

Can you please report what operating system and browser you are on, what the problems are and when it started to help us find out.

    Martin

    I'm on Firefox

and some sort of windows os (2000?)

and it is really really slow - I've had to open multiple tabs; been unable to upload replies, taken up to 45 minutes

been going on since the last shutdown (Friday?) AFAIK

avatars disappear too - not all of them (I can see my flylady;))

IE is quicker than FF at the moment. It's usually the other way round.

    Hi Martin

Problems started Friday evening. Am getting the same problems with FF 3.6.6 and IE 8. Running Windows XP.

    (1) Many many duplicate posts - I am only clicking the Post button once, and only one post appears at first. Then a second duplicate appears with a different time, sometimes 5 minutes later, sometimes 30 minutes later.

    (2) Page loading problems - "Waiting for forums.moneysavingexpert.com" in the status bar, pages not loading (eventually FF times out), taking a good 30 seconds to load, or loading but then not finishing (the eggtimer runs).

    (3) Some avatars not appearing, this was particularly bad yesterday.

    Hi folks,

Its all running smoothly for me - can't see any of our techie team online so there's little i can do at the moment - stay with it

From my limited knowledge i suspect one of our front end servers is having problems which means its fine for most but some will be having a nightmare.

I will try and get someone to look

    Not too bad for me.

Running windows 7 and using FF, latest update.

Loading pages seems to hang ,but clicking the refresh resolves it immediately.

    No problems with seeing avatars.

One double post ..But haven't posted much this weekend so not a good judge.

People seem to be complaining about PM's being returned or double sending
