hi all
shaz, so sorry to hear about your boys meds, however, you just have to hope that their being young and fit and healthy is going to stand them in good stead - that and having a lovely mum.
isom - sorry to hear about your work situation, i must be honest, i was as happy as larry when mine was sorted out, it is a trial, but you must stay strong.
f1 - you have been so good in all that moving and stuff, just try to do the best you can. i am waking up during the nights panicking about moving to france in a couple of weeks and its the moving the contents of a flat that i am worrying about, not about moving to another country - maybe i am not right either? but hey i always wanted to be know as the crazy lady! by the way CONGRATULATIONS on finishing the oxfam jumper, well done you. it does go quicker with crochet, thats why i like them.
don - i bet you are soooo happy, how lovely to have a little girl to add to the mix.
oh well, back to nursing my sick hubby (he has a cold, but in man speak its something much worse) and working on my hexagon jumper.
have a warm evening everyone, its cold out there
dpixie1 oxfam jumper, 19 hexagon jumpers and 1 beanie!0 -
Evening ladies - thanks so much for your words of support they mean so very much - and I have to say I feel a little embarresed especially when so many of you are dealing with much harder tougher life and illnesses
A big wahoooooo DON - a little pink one:D and most of all a healthy one :T:T - congrats all in your house xxxx
isom - oh bother they really are messing you around with the W*** thing - try not to let it worry you all these delays - look after yourself - big hugs xxxxx
dpixie - I wish wish wish I could crochet - I have had a couple of attempts but as my reports said "could try harder" - crochet is on my list of things, along with a bit of scrapbooking - scrapbooking all the cards handmade by friends and family, oh and writing my memoires - Im hopeless at writing so maybe I should ask chalky or mioliere - anyway I digress everyone who crochets says its so much quicker
And K2TOG how is your oxfam jumper coming along ?
Ever since I read chalky and Rod post Ive been singing a few Rod songs (badly I must say)
Oh and another thing I would like to do, like I think Roamin, I want to read all the books I own ......
Have a good evening all - DS seems to have pulled the wool over our ears and got some extra time before bed so I am now about to put a rocket somewhere near his nether regions :rotfl: (only joking!!!) - love and hugs to all xxxxxDebt Diary: Im not going to be an Ostrich anymore -LBM - 16/1/12 /0 -

knitting and easier on my poor brain which is struggling to take anything in plus I find the rythm comforting iykwim...smooth, calm and easy while I find kitting more of an effort...

Hello everyone.
Pippa - I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbour. I hope you feel better soon - might be worth a trip to the doctors? I have that Bazaar book, too! I've had it years and don't think I've ever made anything from it - yet!
F1 - bless your DS. I do hope you can sort something out for the school run soon. Glad you've finished your Oxfam jumper. It's well worth persisting with learning to crochet. It seems impossible at first but all of a sudden it just clicks. I find it so much easier than knitting because I have tendonitis in both hands and knitting, although I love it, is more painful to do. Crochet is so very much quicker to do, too.
DON - a little girl. How wonderful! She will look beautiful in those lovely clothes you'e made.
Shaz - I hope things are going as well as they can for you and your boys.
ISOM - good luck with the w**k worries.
DPixie - I know exactly how you feel about the packing! With me, the main thing that kept me awake was the thought of saying goodbye to my Mum, the children and grandchildren, and was the main reason I didn't want a proper moving party. I tried to pretend it wasn't happening! The packing did cause me sleepless nights, though. Like you, it wasn't the actual move itself, even though it was to another country. I can assure you that I have survived though it's not been without its challenges and shocks! If I can help in any way, please ask - we have been on a real learning curve here and the experience is still fresh in my mind. You may have an AVF in your area - they are a group run by local French residents and ex-pats who welcome all newcomers to an area and are full of great advice. The local mayor will be able to help if you have any problems, too. Don't forget that Jean has been in France for over fifteen years and is the first person I contact now if I'm unsure of anything. She is the true voice of experience here and has really kept me going. When it took me so long to get connected to the internet, she kept in touch with me by phone and definitely kept me sane! I'm sure everything will go well for you and I wish you lots of luck! Make sure you have Skype, too - it's the best way of keeping in touch with everyone back home!
Thanks for all your kind words about my squares. Seakay - I started leaving a long tail for sewing in once I realised that that's what Chalky wanted, but it's the other ends from all the colour changes that need sewing in still! I will try and spend some time on that today, though; I have quite a few to do! I would also like to read every book that I own but I have hundreds and hundreds and I'm not sure I'll live long enough. I would also like to knit or crochet every pattern I own but I know that's impossible! As for writing, I have so many ideas in my head that I know I would need to live to be about 200 years old to get them all down on paper!
I hope everyone has a good day. Lots of (((hugs))) to all in need, and special (((hugs))) to Maytaurus and Elaine.

By the way, I will do the update today - it keeps going out of my mind!KNIT YOUR SQUARE TOTALS:

It's me again. I've just been looking at Amazon and want to treat myself to some new crochet books. I like the look of 200 Crochet Blocks by Jan Eaton, and 100 Flowers to Knit and Crochet by Lesley Stanfield. Does anyone have these and do they recommend them? I know I will have to pay international postage on them but the Amazon prices are pretty good.

Hi
Special hugs for Shaz and ISOM ((((((((((hugs)))))))))
I'm not political, but I love history, so have enjoyed watching how the politcal scene has developed.
Knitting a lovely little bolero for the girl's baby who lived with for a while last year. It's so sweet :-) The cardie I'm knitting for prem babies seems so small. It looks like it should be for a dolly, its a chest size 10".
Have a blessed and prosperous day. Hugs to all in need ((((hugs)))) Love you all :-)

Mioliere you can crochet the ends in as you go sometimes, like you do when knitting. Saves a few big sighs.0

Morning all
Will catch up properly later, but just wanted to share with you all my mad moment – I somehow managed to click onto the “enter now” button for the Cancer UK “Race for Life” for the local event taking place on the 13th June, and so I am now fully signed up!
I’ve been meaning to do this for years, but have always found an excuse…..but not this time! Am walking (NB – not racing, or running!!) in memory of all those people who have been affected by this nasty disease in any shape or form, but especially in memory of my dear Mum who we sadly lost 2 ½ years ago to pancreatic cancer, all too soon and too quickly.
So, if anyone feels they may be in a position to sponsor me (no matter how little…all is appreciated), then please PM me and I can pass on details of the Just Giving page (as obviously I can’t post a link on here).
I know that support from my family here will help me get through.
Many many thanks in advance, and I know I can count on you!!
With love and sunshine flavoured hugs (as at least the sun is out at the moment)
Dawn xx:hello:0
