    Genius!

I've a quick question. A friend of mine's sponsoring a family for Christmas. It's a US tradition - here's an excerpt from the blog:

In other news, I've "adopted" a family for Christmas, meaning I have to get them a Target or Safeway gift card, and get my "adopted" kid an outfit and two gifts from his wish list. His list was:
    1) winter coat
    2) bike and helmet
    3) PSP game
    4) apparel from his favorite soccer team

Is it just me, or is that a rather grabby wish list from the kid? I'm not sure if I'm being mean or if the kid might not understand that those are all expensive things, you know? But if that's the case, shouldn't the parent/s have checked over the list and maybe suggested he ask for less expensive stuff?

maybe I'm jumping to the wrong conclusion but if they're so in need why does he have a psp :undecided probably the last mug to sponsor them :silenced: :o

mmmmm cheese :D they just dissolve don't they

Like Sami said, why does he have a PSP? Winter coat yes, PSP no.

Sami, yes it just dissolved but it was her face! Huge grin and 'nummm nummm nummm' face :D Yet she didn't like rusk? Remind me when shes weaning to offer cheesey puffs instead of rusks

I was very bad, as I left to get DS1 a car pulled into our street and I thought 'bet that git parks in my space' (it's a tiny street with not enough room for our cars let alone the ones from the church that park here rather than on the main road cos we cant have that can we? Can't have our jags and BMWs on the main road crivvens) well they didn't but they left barely enough room to get any car in so I may have bumped the bumper a few times, but is that not what bumpers are for? I wasn't parking in the next street. It's a stupid wee matiz that has parked in a way that you can't get a car infront and I just got in behind. I sooooo need a drive! I know, karma will beat me with a stick but I DON'T CARE!

Grr some idiot let their dog jump at Alice and absolutely terrified her this afternoon. We were setting out for singing and story time and so she'd gone to the end of the path while I was locking the house. Suddenly there was hysterical crying and when I looked round there was a man walking past with a labrador which was straining at it's lead right up to Alice. He just muttered something at Alice about making a fuss about nothing and carried on walking. Obviously the dog was just trying to be friendly but you would expect people not to let their dog lunge at a small child who is barely bigger than the dog in question.

lol Tia - a matiz desn't count as a real car, you can just budge them out the way ;)
I hate them! always driven by idiots/really dangerous old people (cue a thread member popping up saying I have one :p)

How unfair that you all seem to have overly sleepy babies!
I don't... Caitlyn's waking every 2-3 hours through the night... Which is not good considering she's not going to sleep till after 10 either... And Aimee had a nightmare in the night and ended up in with me between Caitlyn's 4am and 6am wake up... I'd love a good chunk of uninterrupted sleep right now!
Advent calender, forgot all about getting one of those (bad mummy). Had to nip to local tesco this morning to get one. When not working loose track of what day / date it is. Have to make sure i remember when 10th Dec is, as its DS 6th birthday. Am quite sure he will know when it is though.

My Health Visitor told me she took her DS to school in his PJs once because he wouldn't get dressed. Never happened again! Maybe i should try that one. lol :rotfl:
Aimee's advent calendar is here, still in the wrapping... She forgot and I didn't remind her... Way I see it, when she remembers tomorrow there'll be 2 chocolates... 1 for Aimee, 1 for Mummy ;)

Oh, and I'm always threatening to take her to school in her pyjamas / blouse and tights / no shoes... It's the only thing that gets her moving, she knows I would as well ;)

 I was thinking we haven't used the swing in a while - probably at least two months! - and I could take it down to make room for the Christmas tree. Rhys has been a bit whinging all day, playing until he can play no more then crashing out, so in a last ditch attempt to keep him occupied, I thought I'd try him in the swing which he previously hated. He watched the birds in the garden for a while and is now fast asleep! Might have to rethink the tree's spot..
Caitlyn went off her swing for a while but she likes it now when she's tired and miserable, it's like she can just chill out in there without being over stimulated... Sometimes she doesn't want to be held...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

This winds me up something chronic... I hate when I'm walking along the footpath and someone's dog lunges at Aimee, how do I know it's not going to rip her face off?! If I spot them I usually say in a very loud voice "Keep away from the doggy, don't let it jump at you" and the owner is generally shamed into pulling it closer... There's no need for him to have been rude though if Alice was upset! How is she now?

    Fritha (busy busy?)

Yup, Celia got two new teeth then a cold then had jabs, got thrush, got another cold and now she's got two infected ears and an infected throat! She's on abs for the infections so we'll be back to thrush again! And I've been working on my sling business like Glam or Sami said :-)

Glam what happened to your joey? How did it go purple?! But hooray for a replacement! I should be there on Friday assuming Celia is on the mend :-)

I finally got back in to see the docs today and have now got daktarin gel for Austins mouth and Daktarin cream for my nips as it looks like it might be thrush that we have,

afaik 48 hours is the crucial time for thrush after 48 hrs you should start to see some improvement.

I remember thrush at five weeks with Celia, it was complete hell, I said exactly the same as you I really didn't know if I could carry on, but it did pass. I'm still bfing at 14 months it did help me during those really tough early stages to remember ny toddker feeding friends, if it didn't get easier they wouldn't be still be going. You're doing so well be very proud of yourself

Hypno I forgot a bit! Pumping is no indication of supply (unless you're exclusively pumping obviously!) a baby is much more efficient than a pump

(pause to give kudos where it's deserved to elle and Feely)

your body gets used to how much the baby wants so it's normal to get less over time. If your supply is dipping while he's having trouble it will pick back up when he starts feeding well again so try not to worry keep pumping when you can as that will stimulate your supply and put him on as often as you feel is rught for you two. I'll repeat my you're doing marvellously :-) (btw how old is your munchkin?)

eta Krystal prolly said all of this by now, I#m a bit late to the party!
