Can I join please??? I have spent enough in the last week and today to last me a lifetime!! so I really must rein in. I have looked through my diary and estimate 11 no spend days. i hope to do more. some days (sat and sun) I cant mark as a no spend day because I will be buying a paper so although its a spend, it will be a small one.

I have also allowed for days where there *might* be a spend so for these days, I hope to convert them into no spend days.

What a great thread and I look forward to meeting the challenge.

    Good luck everyone :D

WOW! I truly didn't expect so many folk to be keen on doing the challenge this month but WelcomeWelcomeWell-Come

Looking at your Post Eric, reminded me of how things were when I first began the various Challenges I now follow on bits of the Boards. This one is exceptionally good for focusing the mind on whether you have no other option than to buy something today & as such, I've begun to see that I probably didn't 'need' to buy something at all :T For instance, I fancied making a semolina pudding the other day but was scarily short of milk as it was when ..I remembered the /SIZE]not-quite-still-in-date :shhh:[SIZE=2 carton of long life in the cupboard, thereby saving petrol to get to the shops+price of milk & all the other bits one tends to "pick up while I'm here" but more importantly, ended the day with my NSD intact party-smiley-018.gif

Anyhooz, the point of my waffle is..if you know you're spending on Xday for something you can only get on Xday--like your paper cuz you can hardly get it the day before can you!--are there things you buy on other days that would perhaps wait till Xday & you get them then & combine two spends into one? Again a lot of my spending was based on HABIT; I was renowned for Thursdays being my grocery day & Tuesdays wandering charity shops, but now I try to do as much in one 'outing' as is within my capabilities & my whole spending pattern of too many years has gone. If I have to buy something today I try to buy what may be needed for tomorrow & beyond which also helps you realise how & where the money goes. If I spend £60 in one day I think
 but I could easily spend twenty+ quid a day over three days & think I'd got off lightly
I hope my amateur psychology hasn't sent you to sleep but--as I said--being on this challenge has helped me identify a lot about how I mis/use my cash.
