MFD - sorry to hear the CM search isn't going too well.....Hopefully you'll find the right one soon enough.

Fitzio - Congrats on the successful feeding and wet nappies:) Do you know when you will be allowed him home?

Kids broke up today, ds1 has come home feeling sick, so is lying in bed watching DVD's. Kai's tooth is finally growing, it cut a few weeks back but just seemed to sit as a little sharp lump for ages but it is actually moving up now.

We are currently looking round at houses to rent.....need a bigger one really, but refuse to go through an agency and it is flaming hard to find private landlords!!

    Mel x

I had my meeting about Christopher and I am now ready to talk about it. Poor you lot it's a long ramble, so feel free to skip.

The speech and language place is not a school, it's an access place, so he would be at college nursery and go there afternoons... maybe.

Big maybe is that his speech may not ever get any better, we can try and try but physically he might just be at his best level. He agrees that it is dysarthria most likey as he also has problems with words themselves. For instance he can match colours but will say red is blue or yellow or dunno. It's like he has misfiled certain words, the word has no meaning to him or an item/object simply doesn't have a name.

He is to get a comunications book with pictures top help him communicate with us.

Quite depressing really, you just assume that your child will do this and that so it's quite a shock when told that the may not be. Kinda felt deep down that the speech may not ever be 'normal', but still... However, I am used to it and will amke the most of it and no matter what I will always support him and push him to be the best that he can be.

He is to be assessed in a fortnight by his own SALT and one of the ones from the SAL unit and then we will know what the best way forward is.

Primary school wise our choices are main stream (our local) with whatever support he needs this year or possibly defere him for a year (another year at college nursery) next year he will get full time places at college nursery as I will again be a student, so I'm not worried about defering him. It may be a good idea, but that will be assessed sometime around easter.

I do love his nursery though, they really have went the whole hog in getting him the help he needs, spending time to support him (and me). Now to find a way to say thank you to them. Local heroes maybe?

    .. Ditto Elle, you ok?

Am good ta tara :) Usual frustrations with the docs but got a nice weekend planned so got to put it to the back of my mind for now.. OH is off work and we're going to Ikea tomorrow to get some bits of furniture and some finishing touches :)

How are things with you? Erin feeling okay now? (after cancelling the sleepover last weekend) :)

Mel, you mean Tigs, not Fitzio :)

:grouphug: Tia.. There have been a couple of award things in the baby mags lately. Want me to have a look if there's a suitable one for the nursery? Still mulling over nominating our hospital..

Elle, our local one was in September. I really want to let them know just how much I appreciate them. I'm all emotional now hehe.
