Hi thanks for the lovely comments about my monkeys much appreciated:D Sorry for the late response but I've been in bed poorly with swine flu:eek: With regard to pricing I think we will have to agree to disagree;) But I will say that I have just received a message from someone off Etsy asking when I would have any new monkeys for sale(my shop is empty at the moment, very bad:o) so I must be doing something right;)Apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone see a problem giving a "sock monkey" kit - ie a pair of socks and the instructions in a nice plastic bag with a topper?
I have a few friends who are crafty themselves and, I think, would enjoy making their own.
I think this is a fantastic idea and would make a really unique gift!irishgirl62 wrote: »stardrops....can i ask where you get the patterns for the hats and scarfs... i love poppys and choccys hat! Poppy and choccy are faboulous too!
irishgirl- a few people have asked for the pattern for the hats and scarves but I'm afraid it's my mam who does them for me and she doesn't follow a pattern. But she has promised to write it down for me(this week hopefully) and then I will post it on here for anyone who is interested:D3_cheeky_princesses wrote: »Hello! I would love to make a camo sock monkey for a army hamper i am making for my 6 yr old daughter.
I may also make one each for my other children.
I have got stuffing, buttons and thread and am off to buy socks tomorrow.
Any tips on what length or brands / designs of socks to buy? I am not very good with sewing so any tips, hints do's or donts would be gratefully received.
I buy ladies ankle socks size 4-7 usually from tesco but Dorothy Perkins are good also. You probably won't get camo socks in ladies so I would just buy boys size 3-5 or nearest. It won't really matter about the size you will just have a smaller or bigger monkey;) Another tip I would give is use the toe of the sock for the nose of the monkey, not the heel as it is nearly always to small and I find the monkeys look much better with a really big nose:D and don't be afraid to use plenty of stuffing in your monkey, nobody likes a floppy monkey:rotfl:Feb GC £80 per week (Well I'm gunna try:whistle:)

Oh CUTE !!! Well done they look fab
Are they hard to make? Do you think with my guidance it is something children could help make? I was thinking this may be a nice craft activity to do with my children in December one saturday to get them in the Christmas mood!
