the weights changed some time ago from 32kg to 23kg.

It wasnt the airlines, but the baggage handlers, for health & safety issues and reduce injuries, demanded maximum weights on each piece be 23kg
I don't think that is correct, as you can still put up to 32KG in one bag, U.S. carriers are the same (70lbs). that must have been a story put around by the airlines trying to blame their reduction in allowance on the handlers.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Going to LV for the 2nd time in 4wks, cant wait!.. I want to get a pair of uggs while i'm there. I remember seeing them in the miracle mile, on a type of market stall near to the public loos at an entrance. Not sure if they're the real thing or not. Anyone got any experiance of purchasing them in LV?
they sell them in quite a few places, but you will get them cheaper in this country, have a look here .

Don't they have to be used by a certain time?

We went into that store last week, managed to resist buying though. According to the UGG website, this is an authorised retailer:

it was the baggage handlers union Unite
Unite, the UK’s largest union, is calling on the government to put pressure on the Health and Safety Executive to introduce regulation that will prevent injuries. Two years ago the Health and Safety Executive aviation Industry group agreed to reduce the weight of checked-in baggage from 32 to 23 kilograms per item. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has also backed the call

The absolute maximum is 32kg with anything over 20kg getting a 'heavy' sticker. Health and safety policy was going in the direction of a maximum of 23kg for baggage handlers, the reason why many airlines have adopted that limit. It hasn't been standardised across the board yet though.

restaurant.com vouchers are good for a year from the date of purchase.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Also, what restaurants would people recommend ordering the vouchers for?

Will you have a car? If not your options are more limited...I copied this from a post I made on Open Vegas earlier this year regarding restaurant.com participants on the strip...there are the restaurants at Mandalay Bay that have been added, and Stripburger.

Those I know are on the strip (none of which I've ever eaten at, well, other than Ben & Jerry's which is an every-trip ritual. :)):

Ben & Jerry's at Miracle Mile (though they still call it Desert Passage)

Cafe Ba Ba Reeba (Fashion Show Mall) - and now Stripburger

    Enoteca San Marco (Venetian)

Little Buddha (at the Palms, but relatively close)

    McFadden's Saloon (at Rio, ditto)

    Ocean One (Miracle Mile)

Pampas Churrascaria (Miracle Mile - but I think you can get a better deal at Tix4Dinner)

    Tacone Flavor Grill (Miracle Mile)

Envy Steakhouse as previously mentioned is accessible by monorail.

Luci and others who use the vouchers quite a lot may know of some more.

Our favorites are off-strip - Austin's Steakhouse at Texas Station and Origin India near Hard Rock.

  • Bit of advice please folks. Been the Vegas half a dozen times and looking on going again Nov 21 - 25th. Previously stopped at Bellagio, MB, Luxor, Paris and MSS, so, mainly south strip.
Got "Premier room" at the Strat reserved for $182 total for the 4 nights. Seems a bit of a bargain to me... Looking at over $250 for anything else on the strip.
Is it really that much of a hassle getting to the Strat? And the rooms state they were remodelled in 2008 so should be in good(ish) condition.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi Holidayqueen,

I fly out Saturday and was planning to get some while I'm there. Someone I work with got some in May from Nordstrom in the Fashion Show Mall and pre-ordered them online to pick up instore. I've just checked the prices and the Classic Long is $179.99 Classic Short $139.99. Thats about £80 cheaper than the high street price over here. I've just had a quick look at the link Stoneman posted so I'll read through that properly before I go to see if any of those discount codes make them cheaper to get here. I need to bring back another pair for a friend as well and she got her last pair at the Premium Outlets. Planning to go there so I'll see if they still do them and post the best price I can find when I get back.

    34 hours to go :j
