I see the alerts page as the business -and this thread as anything else. I really don't understand the obsession with splitting everything. You read what you want to read -you skip what you don't. Alerts are different because some people use technology and alerts require an instant response.
I don't see any clash with people belonging to more than one forum so long as they follow the conventions of each (although judging by the sound of all these suspended accounts I guess The Office doesn't agree with that line of reasoning).

Ultimately you can't please all of the people all of the time though with ANY forum !

    Well said.

Apparently my account on 'the other forum' was bocked because I was suspected of being some subversive MSE plotter who was going to bring them down from within... despite the fact I registered at least a week ago and haven't posted anything whatsoever.

Anyway, I have now been acquitted of said evil intentions, and have been reinstated... :D

An update on my RE Spanish job query about the salad - the query has disappeared but the payment is still pending. The job I did after that one (Monday) has moved to payment, whereas the troublesome one is still showing as pending. I can't check my emails until 12 noon, but is this looking good or bad?

For those that don't know, the briefing notes didn't say anything about a salad, but after I printed them off, they changed them. I didn't order a salad, and put that in my report. They told me it had always been in the briefing notes, so I emailed them a pdf of the original notes to prove that it had not been in my notes!

Another update - I have been PAID!!!!!!!

How rude. But I suppose it goes with their policy of not replying to emails either.

And that's the problem. There is no organisation to enable new users (and some old ones) to find pertinent info.
A break down of FAQ's and MS companies nuances would be a good start.

Newbies asking repetitive questions because the thread is bloated with posts about the health of ones offspring and what's on TV.

There is no moderation so other users take on the role of "policeperson" and shout a lot.
New and old users break confidentiality "rules"

IMHO this is an amateur thread about what should be a serious attempt (for some) to earn money.

Join the proper MS forums if you are serious, if you want to chat then stay here :D

Exactly. And that's why this forum doesn't need to be changed. The people who post on here do so because they like it as it is. Others should, like you say, go elsewhere to a 'serious' forum if they want to be 'serious'.

I am a Moderator on The Office and we have had technical issues with registrations which we weren't aware of, hopefully this has now been sorted out

To the person that mentioned the closed down shop with Gap, go ahead and do it, take the photo. Gap will keep putting the job on the board until the client realises that they have closed down that shop and inform Gap of it, until then Gap will keep having the job to be ms'd, so if you are in the area, why not get paid to prove it

Exactly. Somebody is going to be paid to take a photo of it, it might as well be you! :D
