They tried seperating threads before.. around number 2-4 time.. and it just didnt work.
Firstly it was boring, secondly newbies and other peeps would post in main thread.. until people gave up and the mob ruled :P.
Personallt I love trawling through 2-3 pages of good info, 'I blocked this'... 'How to do this'..>Its what makes this thread alive.. otherwise its boring and 'slow'.

I do agree that goodnights etc, that take up a full page, should be done via PM. If you mention something relevant to why we are all here, ie coupons, however, a goodnight at the end is not a prob. But the goodbyes don't bother me personally, i can just see why they are seen that way.
Yes, well said techspec - I believe that is the message that Honey was trying to get across. The same goes for me - I would hate to see all the banter and chat go. Let's hope we can all compromise and find a happy medium.0 -

As for MM5 - MM5 did not stop posting due to problems with the thread, it was just one incident. I have read the relevant post back, and a link MM5 posted simply contained posts by myself and another, stating where they were from. A couple of us found this funny, hence the posts. I thought the addition of this icon - :rotfl:- might have given away the fact that it was tongue in cheek, something i think MM5 has now realised. QUOTE]

I want to start by apologising for inadvertently stirring up a hornets nest. It wasn’t my intention to create an uncomfortable atmosphere in the thread. In reality, all I actually wanted was for the thread to resemble the way it has been for the last several successful months (chat and coupons, side-by-side in harmony :A).
The only slight change I was hoping for was a small decrease in the very recent trend of kinda unnecessary/unrelated/random posts. But I wasn’t trying to be the chat-police, and I didn’t want to think that others would take up that role either. It was my hope that each individual would use their own conscience and decide for themselves.
So, for what it’s worth, I am happy for the thread to be coupons AND chat. The idea of posting important stuff in BLUE will certainly help me when updating the first page every day. And if I am able (as I usually try to) to keep the first page updated, then people should technically be able to get what info they need from there (if they prefer not to read the new posts).
It’s probably still a good idea to keep Veggiecar’s techie thread (thanks so much for this Veggie!!), simply because it keeps all the relevant info on Couponnet problems all in the one place.
If people want to keep the current separate thread for drivel then that’s a personal choice. But I personally am happy to have chat (yes, even with a certain amount of drivel too!!
) on the main thread.
We made it work for several months, didn’t we? I’m sure we can get back to that status quo again. This thread (version 7) was supposed to be a fresh start. Let’s make it a good one!! :j
