But I do
Sensible question which you will most certainly with respect decline to answer .
Why do you post provoking and egging others on in posts and always stepping back as if to appear blameless I am seriously interested in where you are coming from.0 -
Sorry Mr S..............
I consider you as a friend. How many times have we chatted on the phone as mates?............
How many times did I warn you that posting in the arms would lead to trouble?
I feel I can't support you in your present position. I feel that the team have made these PPR bans as a last resort. You love this site as much as I do. We have spoken about it, I never understood why you got involved in the politics in the background. There was no need for it.
I feel it's a real shame that it's come to this but you've only got yourself to blame. I tried telling you more than once that it would end in tears. You carried on and paid the price. I'm sorry............How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Perhaps this forum needs an extended AbCom team of moderators, there being a few of them "on duty" so to speak, to cover 24 hours a day. This is what happens in some of the other forums I visit.
When a post is reported, it is immediately brought to the attention of whatever mod is on duty and dealt with immediately. This way disruptive and offensive posts don't last more than a very few minutes, and the life is squeezed out of troublemakers.
A site the size of MSE would benefit from a dozen or more such Mods.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

But thy will suffer by mine own actions.
On the flip side tho me and the GF are getting along brill now as I am with her more, MSE can be quite destructive to ones self and to the people they love, therefore I am quite happy to be here if only I didnt have an addictive personality and a boring life within the confines of these four walls.
Ye I did get to involved but when I complained I was ignored and I also
stupidly got riled and protested, this is my own doing and no one elses
and I am of an age where I can do what I like and that maybe one of my downfalls.0 -

Let me clear up a few points.
1. Bullying: I abhore bullying on here, and if anyone is seen to be doing so they will have posting priviledges removed. As for BGs doing it - there is no special protection - report them to abuse. However remember there are two sides to every story. If someone is feeling abused in here, it may be due to subtle things we don't know about. If so report it and perhaps take a little time away from the forums to allow yourself and others to calm down. This site is too big to know the ins and out of every relationship.
2. How to stop AEs. We have just drafted a new policy, with the aid of specialist lawyers when someone has a PPR, which has been checked, which should prevent people posting as AEs once they no longer have a right to. The consequences of this are now notified to people when they are informed of the PPR. I do not want to discuss it here, however it has a lot more bite and less bark than before. Please do not speculate on it. It doesn't help.
Of course PPR does not stop or intend to stop posters reading the main site or forums, just posting in them.
3. Deleting posts. There is no right to delete posts on here, and there are a number of forums that do not ever allow alteration. The posts once on here are copyright of and published by the site, when someone is PPR'd the the priviledge to edit past posts is removed. Though obvously anything that may cause them harm or problems, would be removed on request.
I think that's where I'm going to leave it and close this thread. The one other thing I would like people to remember is the time when how this forum's rule works were decided by many is I'm afraid sadly gone. There are now over 50,000 members of the forum, which means about 150,000 different opinions. We work the forum as best we can, within the law, within the policies set up, it isn't perfect, but its the best we've got.
Because of that I need to cruely say, if you don't like the policies or the way the abuse system is run, then the best thing to do is not use the site. This is a broad church, but it still has walls, my job is to run it best for the 99.9% of users who'd find this whole debate rather pointless and turgid.
