PERMANENTLY not accepting crochet/knitted squares for blankets info is here
The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Maytaurus - you've worked so hard on that and thought of everything! Thank you so much - it must have taken you ages! You are a star - give yourself a huge pat on the back from me and everyone else on here. Having all that info together will be such a help to all of us.

Hi I thought you could copy and paste all of this to the first page & then if you or other peeps want to add any more links etc you can
Or if you like you could tell me & I can just add them here
That way they'll all stay together :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Maytaurus - there's a limit to how many characters we can have in each post; that's why I've stopped adding the updates to the first post! It would be better if they could be added here instead, if you don't mind doing that? How do we add the link? I'm not very techie-minded so do we just say 'refer to post #, on page #' for patterns?
Well, I'm going to chat on this post and update in my next one! I shall do that from now on.
The chat is that I have almost finished the crochet bunting so that Shezmit can put the pattern and a photo on to Preemis UK. (That's if Maytaurus doesn't mind if I email her the photo - once I've finished the bunting, which should be today!). I've already found ways to improve the instructions - it's very strange to follow your own pattern and annoying to find things that could have been better explained! The new instructions will make more sense, I hope!
My Mum (LilyMay) has been busy and has sent 8 hedgehogs, 6 squares, 5 baby hats and 3 large hats (for children; they're too small for the elderly and too big for babies, but I'm sure LH will find good homes for them!). She sent them all down with my DS1 who visited her last week, so I have lots of parcels to get together now and will probably spend tomorrow morning wrapping them all up, then taking a trip to the post office!
Well, we have another massive amount to add to the updates! It's quite unbelievable how much has been made. Pippa is away at the moment and will be astonished by how much more has been done in her absence!
Aeshna - I also get days when I can't seem to find the time to sit down and do anything - it can be really frustrating, can't it? That's why I try and do the update early in the morning when I'm on my own!
Pip's Mum - welcome to you. I hope you enjoy it here! Please ask if there's anything you are unsure of.
RedheadMum - the finger-knitted rug sounds intriguing - we'd love to see a photo of it! I've tried to teach my DGD (6yo) to knit, without success so far, but finger-knitting might be easier for her to grasp so I shall try that with her next week.
My DH's work has slowed right down lately so he's home a lot and has decided to have a major declutter and sort out of all the cupboards, so we've been doing that and listing things on Gumtree. I don't mind because it's great to have a clearout, but it does interrupt my knitting time and my time on here! Still, we've given DGD a lovely desk for her bedroom and she's so thrilled with it, it made my day!
Anyway, that's the chat! I shall update on the next post. I hope you all have a great day and thank you so much for all your hard work!

PLEASE NOTE: Thanks to everyone for such a good response to Chalky's appeal for the orphanage in Spain. Her SIL has arrived with all our items, and they have been delivered to the orphanage. Chalky has posted some great photos on page 27 of this thread. I think we will have made a big difference to a baby who arrived there with nothing; doesn't it make you feel good?!

Hi mioliere
re'I'm not very techie-minded
you can just put see this post ........ then copy & paste the number on my post #964
:j
I'm sure your Mum is enjoying the knitting
My lovely Mum was a super knitter, she could make anything,
do the most complicated cryptic puzzles etc & was an avid reader.
Of course she has been robbed of all these pleasures because of the Alhzeimer's & now she can't do anything at all
I often think how she would love to be joining in with us
oooh have to stop now cos crying and don't want to start myself off on how unfair it is etcThe object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane — Marcus Aurelius0 -
Thanks for the comment in my totals Mioliere, tis appreciatedWeight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0
-
Maytaurus - I've add that link to the daily update so that it's instantly available to us all! It's so sad about your Mum. Alzheimer's is the most cruel thing to happen, not just to the sufferer, but also to their loved ones. Give her a big (((hug))) from me, please. Mine keeps herself very busy but physically she has suffered a lot. She had TB when she was younger and, when she was five months pregnant with me, she had half of each lung removed and daily x-rays for three months! She has huge scars down each side of her back, running to 170 stitches in each one. She suffers with breathing and coughs and colds really set her back. Everyone is amazed that she has survived this long - she was originally predicted to live to seven years old! We are beginning to think she is immortal! I'm very proud of her.
Shelbell - I know how frustrating it is to start something that turns out to be difficult, so well done for keeping at it until it was done! Another 'well done' for the weight-loss I've just seen in your sig - that is truly amazing!
