Just dug out my dh's old samsung v200 and got him £27 in cash!! they haven't got his other Nokia on there. Thanks to OP.

here's a copy of the mail i received from them, so it seems it's ok now to be locked.............................................................................

From Envirofone :- There was a condition on the envirofone site yesterday which stated that we were not accepting phones which are locked to a network but this condition has now been removed as we are accepting phones which are locked to a network as long as they meet our terms and conditions.

Apologies to everyone, I've been away a few days so not been checking on the thread.

I've had my two phones accepted and my ecard/argos card credited to the correct values and have been able to spend part of that credit today on some toys for my daughter. So, this is a genuine set-up to anyone who was waiting for confirmation of that.

I stress again, that ebay may well get you more value for your phone but depends upon your confidence/how much effort you want to put in.

Does it matter if the camera on the phone doesnt work but the rest works? Also it doesnt have to have a sim does it?

Shouldn't matter if the camera doesn't work as they are usually sent to countries who "usually have a poor landline infrastructure which creates a demand for the type of mobile technology some of us would class as obsolete" - so I don't think a camera is particularly high on their list of priorities ! (although who knows if Envirofone will try and offer you a reduced value ?

As regards sims, see my post above where I have reproduced the T&Cs:
"Please remove sim cards prior to sending us your mobile phone. Any sim cards received by envirofone will be discarded in the appropriate manner."

As per post above, you'll probably find less technical phones will be worth more than all singing all dancing ones, as where these phones are going, they don't care for GPRS/email/ringtones. They just want a phone.
