Speaking of Costco, have you noticed their pizza at the snack bar: you can order a large pizza to take away (absolutely huge - must be twice the size of any large pizza from anywhere else in MK) for I think about 6.99 and the best thing is that it really maintains its great taste if you reheat its leftovers the next day (unlike most other pizzas). You'll notice they are very generous with the amount of cheese. Also their jacket potatoes are huge and excellent and they have special take-away boxes for them too.
Also, Martin recommends having a meal before you go food shopping, to avoid the temptation of buying too much food; but at Costco you can fill up your pallet at the snack bar very cheaply before you shop.
Costco snack bar also has refillable soda for just 60p; but a helpful moneysaving hint would be to take your small bottle(s) of water with you and save even more.0 -
"I don't know if you want to alert everyone. Someone in this office has had their card cloned after using Tesco Bletchley cashpoint. Since friday £750 had been fraudulently taken from their account.
A couple of months ago it was Tesco Kingston"

Be assured that Tesco Bletchley is well aware that someone is skimming their cashpoint and has alerted the police. They are waiting for the criminals to come back to check on the system which has now been removed!
The husband is a stock controller there, so this is strait from the horses mouth! He also knows when stuff get's reduced so will keep you all updated!!

Can anyone recommend a good company or individual for new carpets. I've just had a quote from Allied carpets and I've nothing to compare it with - it seems as though you pay the same on top for fitting , underlay etc. As I need 93 square metres - this is working out quite expensive !!0

Louisa, I've just had flooring and carpets put down in my new flat. I used Carpetwise in Stony Stratford - I'm not convinced that they were the cheapest, although they were very reasonable, but I was very impressed by the service and quality of fitting.
The owner, Paul Stuart, was really helpful and remembered my name even when I called a week later regarding my order. They arranged to pick my keys up before I completed my sale and went in and measured my place up for me.
They also operate on the web at http://www.directmobilecarpets.co.uk/
I went to Carpet Right first and they were disinterested, expensive and I wasn't happy with the people there.
If nothing else, give them a call, they are really friendly and helpful.

Hi
Anyone in MK area know anything about 'Model nights' when i can get my fairly short hair (well it was short now it is long and poking me in the eyes when I wear my helmet) cut for, preferably, nothing?
Anyone also know if it is possible to have cheap leg waxes - don't suggest home waxing as I tried it and it's too painful! - is there a local beauty college or something in MK?
TIAjust in case you need to know:

I'm considering visiting MK College's Hair and Beauty section - wet cuts from about £3, all manner of beauty treatments very cheap... it's not quite free but it's next to nothing!

Has anyone ever used the College's facilities?? Can they comment on the experience? Maybe FannyAdams and I should go along to brave it ourselves!!!0 -
The other thing I've just remembered about Carpetwise / Direct Mobile Carpets is that they don't charge for fitting... so your carpet price per sq. metre may be a bit higher, but there's no fitting charge (wooden flooring is different and is charged for!). I remember something about free grippers and door bars being thrown in as well....0

As you know we have hundreds of new houses springing up everywhere in MK. Has anyone ever moved into a new area, or into a new block of flats?
Ever had any problems with your post??
I'm fighting with Royal Mail over items I say are lost, and they say aren't in Brinklow (yep, I live in the East side and have to suffer the Brinklow lot)
