I'm hoping you can come through with some advice for me.
I was given a big slow cooker last night (A big silver Morphy Rochards like the photo earlier in this thread. It has low/high/auto settings ) but I'm a slow cooker virgin & it doesn't have any instructions!!  ...
If anyone can recommend a beginners book or offer any advice I'd really appreciate it!

They have instruction booklets (PDF files) for some of their slow cookers on their website:

The trouble with them is you can smell food ALL DAY and if you are like me this will make you think of food ALL DAY.
    This was very tasty:
half a bag of tesco moroccan style lamb chops
1 tesco value beef stock cube
    1 tin tesco value tomatoes
    1 handful green lentils
    3 carrots peeled and chopped
    2 onions chopped
    2 cloves garlic
    1 1/2 pints water

served with couscous, it was enough for 2 adults and 2 children (fussy daughter missed out there - baked spud and sweetcorn for her!)

Thank you Aussielle for the delicious pork steak recipe at the beginning of this thread!! We had it for dinner tonight (I'm loving this slow cooker). Lots of leftover sauce so hubby had that as a soup instead of a pud!!
He was too fast for me and I couldn't get it to the freezer quickly enough!

Got peeps coming for dinner on Sunday and want to cook a Jam Roly-Poly but I'm out in the morning and don't want to leave it steaming for 1 1/2hrs unattended. Can I cook it in the slow cooker? How long does it take? How much water should I put in? How do I stop it sitting in water and going soggy? HELP!
