Off to the Caribbean soon. Now, the street value in Barbados is usually 2BB$ dollars to 1US$. Give that, am I right in thinking I should take US$ ?
$200 Barbados would cost me around £79, whereas $100US would cost around £76.
Changing a £1,000 could mean a few more drinks!

If cash is what you want to take then I would suggest USD$.
On my visits to the island I would use my Halifax Clarity credit card for larger purchases and then used USD$ for tips, taxis, buses and smaller purchases in shops, bars and supermarkets. Change will likely be given in BD$ which can of course be used up as you go along.0 -
